It would not detect the obstacles and the automatic brakes would not work. Also, forget about the speed signs, emergency braking...
P.S. are you able to get any kind oof scanner to scan for trouble codes? Can you get Techstream?
I don't think that there's any kind of hardware issue. I am sure it is software related and all that can be solved with Techstream.
These cars are made in a way that you can drive them even with these issues. It is mind boggling how many systems these cars have and they are still drivable with them malfunctioning. Last month I erased the hybrid brake system memory. I never saw so many messages and a bigger Christmas tree, nothing was working (radar, camera, primary brake system, secondary brake system, RCD, RVDS..........) but I was able to drive the car.
Yes I have codes that were scanned. Little while ago I got into a brief argument with the collision repair shop that Lexus recommended us to because their dealership doesn’t have a collision center and only uses the one that was recommended which is supposedly Toyota Lexus certified. Ever since I picked my car up from them it hasn’t been the same. Don’t know if they swapped parts from another Lexus or not but it’s never been the sa
me
I don’t think they reprogrammed the car after the repairs. Wife took it by advance auto and these are the codes that were retrieved and cleared P0505 P0174 P117B P0455 P0441 P0171
Meanwhile, he should be able to hold down the cruise enable button on the steering wheel until adaptive cruise shuts off, and then at least be able to drive with old-school cruise control, right?
And, jeez, Thomas, I'm so sorry. That sounds very uncomfortable and stressful. I'm sorry to hear you're having to go through that.
Lexus + Alexa doesn't automatically connect which stinks. My phone automatically connects but not the Enform App. If I make a phone call I can talk through my car. If I say "hey google" and ask a question my phone will display a response but nothing through the car.
Hmm... You might want to check the date on the post you're think of responding to so you can determine whether your response will arrive within a reasonable time frame to actually offer help to the poster of the post you're responding to. The post you're quoting is over 4 years ago so your reply even if it was correct just might be considered a tad bit on the late side in providing help with the poster's problem you're responding to.
The poster, bdroc, you're responding to has a 2021 ES 250 AWD which has the older 2019 through 2022 model year multimedia system which does not support watch phrase monitoring and voice command system activation upon detection of a spoken watch phrase. So, just saying hey google in that ES is only going to be handled by any Android phone present in the vehicle and the ES's microphones and speakers will not be used.
The older system does support Siri Eyes Free Mode and Google App voice commands using the ES's microphones and speakers with the Mobile Assistance function with a Bluetooth connected iPhone (for Siri Eyes Free Mode) or Android phone (for Google App). To invoke either of those requires pressing and holding the steering wheel's talk switch until the Mobile Assistant screen appears and then speaking your command/request whhich will be picked up by the ES's microphones and sent over Bluetooth to the Bluetooth attached phone to be acted upon. If there's any audio response to that input the phone will be return it over Bluetooth and it will be output through the ES's speakers.
