Just installed my fitcamx. Removing it was painless but putting it back with all the extra wires added was a pain. A couple of things to those who have it as well. When I removed the OEM panel there was a “click” sound when I pull it down or push it up. Once I replaced it with the fitcamx it wasn’t making that click sound anymore. It seems pretty stable and secured but I just what to know if this was the same case for everyone. If you guys hear the click sound then I may need to redo it so that I know it’s secured. Second question I have is about using the app LuckCam. If can’t find the dash cams WiFi. Do I need to turn on something on the dash cam to activate it? Thanks in advance. I will be posting some vids later today when I drive to test the cam.

Yes I remember hearing a click with the dashcam cover, although fainter than the OEM panel, so you could've missed it. On my first try the dashcam cover actually fell down when I was test driving, so try pulling on it a bit to make sure it's actually secure. And when tucking the wires back in, make sure no wire end up on the heatsink of the lane keep camera. It's the top side of the camera module and it gets hot in operation. I smelled a faint hot plastic smell a day after my installation and once I realized the issue I rerouted the wires to clear that.

My dashcam wifi was discoverable as soon as I started it up. Make sure you have the microSD card in, and the light is blinking blue. Also remember to disable auto connect to that wifi network.

I just noticed that it has a weird WiFi name which is why I thought it wasn't showing up. Mine is something like LHD_32F45. Is yours the same? I am assuming for now because I am trying it out in an area where there is no wifi. When I turn on the care that wifi name shows up, when I turn it off it disappears. So process of elimination.

Yes, the number after the _ is different, but it does start with LHD like it said in the manual. You can change the name and password later on if you want.

Did you turn on your g sensor setting? Did you try to see if it works? If so at what sensitivity level did you place it on? Thanks.

I put it on medium, haven't tried if it works, so far it has never been triggered from what I can tell...

But the microSD card is also easily accessible, it's just a slot on the passenger side. Pulling footage by removing the card and plug into your computer and formatting is probably faster than wifi.
It's good that you can access the card easily. I've had a dash cam for over 5 years. The only problem I've had is that standard micro sd cards wear out. In my case, 2 years and I only drive about 5000 miles a year. So, when this standardone wears out, be sure to buy a continuous duty card made for video cameras. They're readily available and only a few $$ more.

I've been going back and forth about getting a dash cam for my '19 ES300h. I just watched a dually driving down our sidewalk almost make a pancake out of my car ... WTF ...

I'm most definitely getting a dash cam of some kind.

My first question is there any double secret option to enable recording on the factory front and rear facing cameras? My assuming not.

I would prefer a front and rear channel, but I'm not married to the requirement. I do park on the street, pretty much like in the picture, and do require parking or impact recording. I don't see myself using wifi very much. I'll just take out the SD card and plug it into my Mac.

A question on the parking recording. I do a hybrid ES with a massive battery under the rear sear as well as a battery in the trunk. Hostly I'm not sure what the trunk battery is for. Since I have these batteries in my car, do I really need to put a power bank on the camera?

The 'OEM Looking' camera, discussed at length, looks interesting. Has anyone used it with auto-sensing rain module? At least I think that is the small camera pod to the right side of the mirror assembly.

I've been looking at the following cameras on Amazon.

Rexing V1P Pro Dual
Amazon Amazon

Roav DashCam S1, by Anker
Amazon Amazon

Please offer other suggestions ....

Not much has changed in the Dash Cam market since this thread started. I'd suggest going back and reading it from the beginning. There's a lot of good information in here.

I will tell you that if your parking on the street, all the time, you will most likely want a camera with a power bank type battery backup because your "parking mode" where the camera(s) come on and record whenever they sense movement, are going to be recording ALL THE TIME which will run your car battery down, and most importantly stop recording in order to not run your main car battery too low to start the car.

I have the BlackVue DR-750S-2 channel which I bought from DashCam Store.com, and I paid ~$50 to have Best Buy install, and it works really well. People may scoff at the Best Buy install, but they did a nice job, and provide a lifetime guarantee on the installation. Do not buy the OBD port power system, as it was the only thing I had an issue with functioning correctly, and the Dash Cam Store people said it was "known" to not function well with Toyota/Lexus OBD port, and it didn't work at all for me.

I like you use it only be removing and reviewing the action on the memory card.

Also ordered mine on the same date with expedited shipping. Unfortunately my camera was held up by a random customs check and further delayed by their Spring Festival holiday. At least this is according to them company. Amazon offered to refund my money and the manufacturer refunded my shipping costs since it was delayed. I decided to wait it out and I'm hoping to have mine in the next few days. My car has been in the detail shop for over 2 weeks and I'll have it back on the 14th. Can't wait to install this. Let us know how the install goes.

Wow they have lots of options. They are definitely pricy. To those have used these, do you feel the cost is justified over less expensive options?

Everyone has a different opinion of the value of anything, but I buy nice things, and I take care of my things, and keep them for many years. This is just another way to protect me from the crazy drivers that are out on the street. My car is parked in a garage every night too! For me, absolutely worth the cost. They do have other less expensive options, but the parking mode is IMO critical if your parking on the street a lot.
