Default Compustar for 300h Hybrids

Has anyone been successful with getting a dealer to install any sort of Compustar product in their hybrid?

The Compustar website shows that it they officially support 7th gen 350s but nothing about the hybrids. When look deeper, apparently technically any car is compatible with their product. However, there are three restrictions. These include supercars, all EV cars, and cars with carbeurators.

I've contacted some dealers, and most are unsure of its compatibility. However, Best Buy shows it works with the hybrid. I'm not so sure I want them messing with my car.

So far I've been able to get the IGLA system installed. However, the installer struggled with it at first. Apparently a custom firmware was required since it was a hybrid.

It's just to remote start the car?
Don't you like the built in remote start functionality?

I do like the built in functionality. I just don't like paying a subscription for it.

The other added benefit is the security system. Some features like tilt detection and glass breaking. Also the piece of mind knowing I left the car locked. My current living situation doesn't include garages. So I'm trying to prevent the car from being towed. I've had some tow trucks patrolling in my neighborhood in the middle of the night.

The key fob's three press cadence will remote start your Lexus for 10 years from Date of First Use for free.
You must have the Safety Connect trial enabled. If you opt out of connected services out of an overabundance
of caution and don't want Big Bro watching, you lose the Remote Start from the fob.

Lexus must have changed the rules regarding having RS from the key fob for 10 years. My 2019 works and I do not have any program connections. No Enform, Safety Connect, or any other subscription. Will be 7 years this month...

For my 2020 over a year ago when I was forced to accept or decline new privacy agreements I declined and my remaining 10 yr trial was canceled and I lost the fob remote start. One thing I have not tried yet is in techstream there is a switch to turn on remote start but that has always been off even when it worked.

That's crazy! I was not aware of this. This kind of makes sense now when I see people complaining about not being able to remote start with the fob. I always thought they just never got the timing right.

2019 Lexus ESs had/have 10 year (trial) subscriptions to Safety Connect and Service Connect. Unless you explicitly cancelled those subscriptions with US Lexus corporate support, those two subscriptions are still active.

Same here on all points. Though I'm the second owner.
Boy, do I love that remote start in these cold mornings

If I had not declined the agreement and just did nothing my 10yr would probably still be in effect. One thing to note is that parasitic battery drain is way down now because not constantly trying to transmit.

There are two types of remote start. Remote start using the key fob and remote start using the Lexus app.

Per (US) Lexus's one pager, Key FOB Remote Start, as long as you have an active (trial or paid) subscription to one or more of Safety Connect, Service Connect, Enform Remote (AKA Remote/Remote Connect), and Destination Assist, remote start using the key fob should work. For this generation of ES, every ES had/has a Service Connect 10 year trial subscription with varying trial subscription periods for the others, with some periods as short as 1 year, like the 2019 Remote Connect and Destination Assist trial subscriptions. So, unless all subscriptions have been explicitly canceled with US Lexus corporate support, key fob remote start should still be working for all of this generation ESs.

Using the Lexus app to remote start your ES requires an active (trial or paid) Remote/Remote Connect subscription. As mentioned above, 2019 ESs came with a 1-year trial Remote/Remote Connect subscription. I can't recall whether it was the 2020 or 2021 model year when the Remote/Remote Connect trial subscription period changed to 3 years.

So, even though your Remote/Remote Connect trial subscription has expired, using your key fob to remote start your ES should still be working.

I was told by the Compustar dealer that they are only able to install the security system. However, the remote start is not supported.
