Lexus App
I have a 2025 ES 300H, love the car but the app is giving me fits. I am registered as the primary driver and I am attempting to put my wife on the app as a secondary driver. Can ANYONE give me a step by step guide of how to accomplish this.Yesterday I sat in drive for 3 hours trying but didn't get anything accomplished. From what I have read my key fob and phone cannot be in the car while trying to set this up? They need a separate manual on how to do this. I am hoping there is someone on this forum that knows all about this app that can help me. The nearest Lexus dealer is 180 mile away.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. TKS Arnie

That said, adding a secondary driver to a Lexus Interface vehicle such as your 2025 ES 300H is done through user profiles. Per the (US) Lexus Support article HOW CAN I ADD MY USER PROFILE TO A VEHICLE?, you're directed to their Connected Technology Support Tool for assistance "with User Profile". On that web page you'll initially have to "SELECT YOUR VEHICLE TO BEGIN". Select your vehicle either by the drop down menus "SELECT MODEL" and "SELECT YEAR" (select year isn't enabled until a model has been selected) or by entering your ES's VIN. After that's done, the "GET STARTED" button will become enabled and when clicked on will reload the page with a "dash board" of support topic tiles for the selected vehicle - in your case it'll be for a 2025 Lexus ES 300H. In the "INTERFACE SERVICES" section there's a "USER PROFILE" when clicked on will take you to an additional "dash board" of USER PROFILE support topic tiles. Clicking on the HOW TO CREATE A PROFILE will result in a web page stating:
A USER PROFILE IS AUTOMATICALLY CREATED
ONCE YOU REGISTER AND SET YOUR ACCOUNT PIN IN THE LEXUS APP.
ONCE YOU REGISTER AND SET YOUR ACCOUNT PIN IN THE LEXUS APP.
At the end of that chain of steps, There's another Click here "To learn how to add your vehicle and enroll" which will take you to another linked chain of steps that will walk you through the specific steps of adding your wife's newly created user profile/Lexus app account to your ES's Lexus Interface settings.
(I'm not sure how well all the Lexus web site specific vehicle tailored links will be handled by the Club Lexus posting software so I've included a more verbose "follow the breadcrumbs" description above in case the posted links gets mangled.)
If you want to give your wife access to the Remote Connect capabilities (e.g., remote start, etc.) of your ES 300H through her logged in Lexus app account, you as owner/primary driver user profile will have to give her Lexus app account permission from your logged in Lexus app account. For details on how to do that see the Lexus support article CAN I SHARE MY REMOTE CONNECT WITH ANOTHER DRIVER?.
If a video on adding an additional user profile would help, Northside Lexus's Melissa O'Connell's "How to Link Your Lexus Interface Profile in your Lexus - 2022 Lexus NX Featured" starting at the 7:12 time mark explains and demonstrates how to do that: (Although a 2022 Lexus NX is used for the demonstration, the "Add Additional Driver Profiles" is still valid for your 2025 ES 300H.)
Although it isn't shown for very long, note at around the 8:13 time mark the large red text "Must Use Different Lexus App Account for Additional Driver Profiles" which is the only place I've found so far that makes that point explicitly clear.
I suggest before actually doing what's need to create and add your wife's user profile as a secondary driver you walk through, just previewing, the Lexus web site steps and watch the relevant part of the above video. There are some differences between creating/adding a primary driver profile and a secondary driver profile so previewing the procedures may help in avoiding missteps/errors and keep you on the correct path of adding a secondardy driver user profile.
That is great information. I have a different problem. I installed Lexus App on my iPhone 13. After recent iOS update, my App automatically goes back to background while I am still on the App. This requires me to go back to the App and sign back in (face recognition). I wonder did I install any setting wrong?

In case you need a pointer on where that is located; on the main vehicle screen select the stylized person icon located at the top right corner to go to your "Manage your Profile & Settings" screen. Then select/tap the "Account" button to go to the "ACCOUNT SETTINGS" screen. Then from the list of settings, select/tap the "Security Settings" entry to go to the "SECURITY SETTINGS" screen where the "Face ID Settings" individual settings controls are located.
I'm not sure it was the source of your need to resign in the app after your recent IOS update but I see there was also an new IOS/iPadOS version of the app a month ago. In the past I've noticed there's been some (if not all) new version Lexus app download and reinstalls require on the new version's first launch resigning in and reestablishing my sign in security preferences (e.g., enabling Face ID).
You might want to check "Security Settings" under the Lexus app's "ACCOUNT SETTINGS". That's where the "Face ID Settings" "Enable Face ID", "Require Authentication > time interval", and "Keep Me Signed In" are located.

If you haven't done so already, try deleting the Lexus app from your iPhone and then download and reinstall a fresh copy from the App Store. (I'm assuming you know how to do that but if you don't just ask and someone one will inform you on how to do it.)
P.S. Your login credentials (i.e., user name and password) (assuming you're using Apple's built in password manager or a third party one) and Lexus vehicle and subscription data will be preserved across the Lexus app deletion and reinstall so you needn't worry about loosing that data. The password manger will retain the login credentials and the Lexus related master data is stored on Lexus's cloud servers and the necessary data will be downloaded upon signing into your account when launching the newly installed copy of the Lexus app.

Although it wasn't the Lexus app, I had a problem with an iPadOS app that I couldn't get fixed until I deleted the app and then downloaded and reinstalled an App Store fresh copy of the app. When deleting the app both IOS and iPadOS also deletes the hidden from "normal" users associated settings/preferences and data caching files. So, if the problem is with some sort of data corruption in one or more of those files, deleting the app will also get rid of those possibly corrupt "hidden" files and you'll be starting with a clean app state with freshly downloaded from the App Store and reinstalled app.
