I noticed the other day that when i shift to R... the left and right rear view mirror pan out about 5 degrees in their respective direction. Normally when you shift to reverse the mirrors should tilt down. I have looked through all the settings and cannot find any customization options. Anyone have a clue and how you can adjust the rear view mirrors to tilt down ? I do not understand why they would pan out as it does nothing to assist you as you reverse.

 

You mean the side mirrors? Set your mirror adjustment switch to the right or left.

 

Make the adjustments on both mirrors while you're in reverse. It will remember it next time you reverse if you leave it on left or right.

I wish there was a way to hack the mirror to make it tilt on reverse even if your car doesn't have memory seats. Mine doesn't so the mirrors don't tilt. Thanks Toyota...

 

yeah i know how you feel, i was pretty bummed when it was not tilting, i thought the 2013 or the ES didnt have it. Have you tried adjusting the mirrors while in reverse ? They wont remember it?

 

Remember that the toggle switch for right and left must not be in the center position, that turns the feature off.
