Dealer put BG atf during flush
Got my transmission flushed (I do it every 50k miles) at the local Toyota dealer. Read the paperwork after and it said that they put in BG universal synthetic atf instead of the WS. I complained to the service manager that nobody informed me that they wouldn’t use the standard WS and she agreed to replace the fluid free of charge.
Anyone have anny long term experience with using the BG in the ES? I was getting harder shifts at first but over the week they have gotten smoother. I worry about seals leaking too since it apparently is a true synthetic.

First time I heard of this company. It's a US company and they have an extensive coverage with their products. The 313 BG Universal ATF is compatible to WS.

There is something to be said for it's quality if the dealer carries it. The manufacturer offers a lifetime protection plan - but, you have to replace the ATF every 30K with same BG product.
Your trany will be OK. I switched to Valvoline MaxLife ATF with second flush at 157K, and replaced a very dirty ATF filter.

We use the BG Universal ATF where I work, as well as most all of the BG products. I work at a government shop where we maintain just over 1000 vehicles ranging from Honda Civics to Class 8 trucks. It’s a great product. As long as it meets specs for your vehicle, as chuyrobles noted, you have nothing to worry about.

Never heard of BG, but as a synthetic, you're better off. I understand that Toyota WS is not synthetic, and they call that a "lifetime" fluid! I replaced the WS in my Lexus with Red Line D6, a synthetic, and I couldn't be happier.

Can you notice the difference between shifting gears ?

In the beginning (first week) seemed like harder shifts on the low end and smoother (more than normal) on the higher gears. I think it’s evened out now. Don’t know what to make of that!
On another note, very small gain in mpg from about 24.4 to 24.6. Could be other factors involved in that too though.
