Default 1st failure today

So today I had my 1st reliability issue with my 2010 ES with 34K miles on it. I went to open my trunk just after I had opened it aout 10 minutes earlier and it would not open. Pressing the trunk button with the key fob in my pocket didn't open it as it normally does. Then I went to the panel on the left side of the steering wheel and pressed the trunk release and still it would not open. So I finally had to open the center rest in the rear and using a rod pulled the emergency trunk release and opened it. So tomorrow I'll start trouble shooting it to see if it is a fuse or a solenoid or a switch or even the sense module. I checked the key fob and neither of the 2 that I have would open it. So that rules out the key battery. Maybe it's the fuse but if not I'll need to take down the trunk padding and see if the latch is linkage is the problem. If anyone has dealt with this I would be interested in what you found out. Thanks

There's a button in the glove box that locks the trunk, make sure it's not locked from there.

Yep got it and somehow it was hit today and it worked just like it supposed to. I checked it out on the net and found the same suggestion. I reset the button and all works ahain. Also while researching it I found there is a TSB for the emergency pull in the trunk . As I had to use it I'm going to take it in to either Toyota or Lexus to get it done. I'm good and back to no reliability issues yet. thanks

So, at the end, still 0 failures.

Yep that's it. The only time it was back at the dealer was for it's 1st oil change. I have done all of the scheduled maintenance with oil changes every 5K miles. Right now I am on my OEM Bridgestone's and expect them to make 35K and will replace them.

Default stuck trunk lid

I freaked out one time when my trunk would not open--fob, interior latch and truck release--none worked. Turned out it was just stuck--the rubber seal was stuck to the lid I guess. All I had to do was pull a little harder!

I declined the trunk pull TSB. I told my SA that if I put someone in the trunk, I wanted them to stay in the trunk. I thought he was going to fall out of his chair

I let them do it, then cut the cord and taped the handle in place. That gives the person in the trunk hope, then crushes when they think the broke it.
