Default Bitter sweet good buy

Cheers everyone,
I thought I'd post a farewell message; after 48,160 miles and 51 months I said my final good bye to my ES this morning. For the first time since 2004 I no longer own a Toyota product. I just sold my '07 ES350 UL to carmax. I really enjoyed the car and took great care of it - someone is going to get a great deal on a gently used ES.

What are you going to buy for your replacement? I only left Toyota/Lexus once since 1994 but came back after a few years in an Infiniti. I really liked the car but the service experience was just not the same.

My plan is to come back to Lexus but I'm waiting for the major re-design of the ES. Or if I can be diligent about saving money the LS. In the mean time I purchased a 2012 Kia Sorento LX - it's no Lexus but it's affordable and I should have it paid off in 18 months - just in time for a redesigned ES. Plus now I won't worry about my dogs messing up the interrior.

Honestly I'm only missing the status. I've gotten some funny looks from co-workers when I tell them I downgraded to Kia but when they ride in it they're impressed just as I was. It's quieter, just as fuel efficient, has more space, as much tech. and has that new car smell.

I hope Toyota/Lexus really steps it up because for my next car I'm not going to make a purchase decision solely on status.

Wow! Interesting move on cars.

Not many of us original '07ers left now. I'm feeling alone...

i dont believe this... it is Quieter than the lexus.. I wud disagree.. u r cruising at 80mph. if ur lexus is in good condition. it should definitely be quieter than the kia SUV.. usually SUVs. since u r higher than a sedan. ride more quieter.. but Lexus.( all models ) sound isolation. is legendary.

i drove a 2011 Kia Sorento when i rented a car from Enterprise and i have to PARTIALLY agree that it's a good SUV. but to say it's at par with LEXUS is just a far stretch.

to the OP, instead of getting an ES, have you considered the 2013 GS?

My "07 ES350 will remain in my garage a long time since it only has 23,700 miles on it. It has been a perfect vehicle without any problems, good performance, and very quiet and comfortable on the road. With the ultra luxury package it just cannot be beat in my opinion. The Michelin tires are down to 5/32 tread but I figure another 10K miles and then replace. A KIA for replacement??

Only 23,700 miles on a 5 year old car!! What, do you just go out and look at it every day? Them's some low miles!

Hey Drefus, Just haven't driven it much due to wife's illness. Drive my truck some and the RX some. So by the time I get around to driving all three my mileage doesn't accumulate very much. It's amazing how soon the 6 mos maintenance arrives. Never worry about the mileage. When I decide to sell someone will get a new "07 ES.
