Default Pre collision option? How do I know?

Does anybody know how to confirm whether a 2007 has pre crash collision? I am replacing the front grille and emblem die to fender bender and I know they are 386$ at the dealer which is absurd when there are pretty good aftermarket ones for 70$ on eBay ? But they are mostly “ no pre crash collision “ grilles…. Thanks for any input on grilles on these cars!!! Also if anyone know a link to a hood grille and emblem brand please reply….the chrome grille surround on the car is fine btw so I do not need that part . Just grille and emblem….

The Pre-Collision System that became standard in 2018 as part of the Lexus Safely System was available
as a separate option "PS" starting in the 2013 redesign. It was not available on the ES 350 in 2007,

thank you so much I appreciate the quick response. It’s crazy you get on eBay and there’s about 20 different brands of grills that you can buy for this car I’m not sure which one to go with. Guess I’ll just pick one and hope that it fits because I’m definitely not buying the dealer one especially since it’s my son‘s car and it’s 15 years old at this point

There must be many used ones available on eBay or at a local used auto parts yard.

? My manual discusses pre collision options for the 07 and there's a commercial for it
. In fact part websites let you choose the pre-collision or not. There's the sensors in the bumper, and the one sensor behind the Lexus emblem on some versions. Though I think that's specifically for dynamic cruise control

I think very few 2007 models had pre-collision. Found this online:

The 2007 Lexus ES 350 comes as one model, but the buyer can opt for a huge range of equipment by selecting Premium, Premium Plus, Ultra Luxury, Pre-Collision, and Adaptive Cruise options packages. Freestanding options include park assist, a power rear sunshade, heated and ventilated front seats, a full-size spare tire, a wood and leather trim package, and DVD navigation with backup camera.

Optional equipment includes a navigation system, satellite radio (XM or Sirius), a 14-speaker Mark Levinson stereo system, Bluetooth wireless capability for cellphones, a panoramic glass roof, and radar-adaptive cruise control.

Safety features that come standard on the ES 350 include dual front airbags, a knee airbag, side-impact airbags (for torso protection), curtain airbags (for head protection), electronic stability control, traction control, antilock brakes (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), and a tire-pressure monitor system. A new two-chamber passenger airbag is designed to stop your passenger's upper body and torso with minimal facial contact and neck stress on deployment.

The Pre-Collision package includes a radar-based cruise control system that automatically maintains a preset distance between the ES 350 and the car ahead. If the system senses an imminent collision, it retracts all the outboard seatbelts and triggers full panic-braking power at the pedal (but it doesn't close the windows and the sunroof like the Mercedes-Benz system).

I wonder how you can tell if the car has pre-collision on it or not. I never thought this would be so complicated to figure out what freaking grill to buy the damn car. This is ridiculous. You should be able to easily very clear on whether or not my car has pre-collision or not.

So my 2007 came with this feature and I'm not gonna lie all it does is beep at you .00001 seconds before you get into an accident and/or hit something. Usually at that moment it's too late to take a corrective course of action, so in my opinion it's largely useless but that's just from my experience with this car. Also after removing my grille ( to replace it) there was never a module or sensor attached to it, so I'm under the impression that it largely does not matter which grille you buy as a replacement.

It probably was based on the bumper located parking sensors.

To know what options are on your ES - Go to the Lexus Drivers Site, join for free and enter your VIN. Then you can see your vehicle build info and the options on it. You can also see the dealer service history.

The difference is the bumpers with it will have circular cut outs for the sensors I believe.

I’m thinking that the same grille works whether you have the option or not if you think about it. If you’re going to replace the grill emblem it doesn’t interfere with the bumper anyway.
