Default Tuning Suggestions?

I don’t see any appreciable content on tunes for this car. I would have assumed there was plenty for the 2gr-fe...

over on the is350 forums, the RR racing rune and to a lesser extent, OV tune has quite a following. Any suggestions on a comparable tune that would raise redline to 7200 and add some HP? 268 crank HP is pretty weaksauce from a 2gr!

i currently have an IS 350C, but am in the market for a beater sedan, which will be modded as well. The ES is in the table due to comfort and widespread cheap availability used. I don’t care as much about handling, i want to make whatever i buy faster in a straight line.

I think you’ll be one of the first to tune a 5ES for speed. You have to realize the transmission and CV axles barely handle the power as it is, so boosting it is gonna only create trouble. Look up CV axle issues and transmission flares if you’re curious. The 2GR is a versatile engine, heck Lotus put them in the Evora but you gotta support it with other components as well.

I think you’re better off looking into a different sedan if you want cheap speed.

I remember seeing tests where the 0-60 of the ES350 was actually the same IS350C, or if not the same, really close, say 6.2 versus 6.5
