Well my bride doesn't want to sell the 2010 yet so I had to go out yesterday and get new tires. So I only got 25K on the Michelin's and they are pretty much shot. With all of the supposedly great ratings at the time I thought they would be a good choice. Well it didn't work out that well and the tires wore out faster then I though over the 3 1/2 years I had them. I have had good experience with the Continentals I put on my Jag XKR that I decided to put a set of the Conti DWS06 on the ES. While this was getting done I told them to put the car on the alignment machine and do a 4 wheel alignment. He set the car up and put the reflectors on all 4 and turned the laser system on . This is where I was impressed. After 58K miles the system said it was in spec. He said he wouldn't touch anything and didn't even charge me to look at it. Then again the tires along with high speed balance and tax came to $680 . It's great to be retired.
The MXV4 are/have beein discontinued. I was able to purchase some at Costco about 2 months ago, but they'll most probably be the last I'll be able to own after they wear down.

Yah, I saw that. Just that I've been running the MXV4's for so many years on all my cars. They've been good tires for me over the years but I thought they were always overrated for how long they lasted.
I have the MXV4s , or had them. I got about 5 yrs and around 25,000 kms on them. I put snow tires on in the winter hence the low mileage per year. When the mechanic put my snows on this fall, he noted the sidewall on one the front tires had a split. He said I was lucky it didn't blow during driving. I didn't notice as the split was on the inside of the tire. Tread was pretty much shot on all 4 tires as well. Wasn't very impressed.
I don't think I'll be putting Michelin's come this spring. They don't seem to be worth the money any more.
Gotta agree about the Michelins... not worth the money anymore. The only reason I put mine on recently is 1) I could still get them, and 2) didn't know what else to go with. Supposedly, Michelins don't last in Hawaii as well, and Costco told me they're doing an investigation about the rubber cracking/chipping on our roads. They're saying it might be the "lava" in the roads, but I doubt it. We don't have that much lava! Perhaps I'll go with Bridgestones the next time, or even the Continentals.
By the way, I did an alignment when I got the new tires and with 55,000 miles on the car, front toe's were only off a very little, and the rear was spot on except for camber on the passenger side being off by .06, which there is no adjustment for.
