Default Engine or Something Knocking?

Started about 2 weeks ago. Something under the hood on the drivers side is making a slight knocking noise. It only happens when im going slow as hell like leaving a driveway or parking lot. any ideas what it can be? Can it be the high Houston heat and humidity? 110k miles on a 2000 ES.

it's impossible to help you from that description, but it's most likely to be a suspension part.

The knocking sound may also be caused by carb build up in your vehicle's combustion changers or by a low octane fuel.

Is the knocking noise proportional to wheel speed or engine speed?
There can so many things that can produce a knocking noise.....suspension, brake, engine, transmission, or something loose.

If it's happening at low speeds and the sound is coming from one side only, it's very unlikely to be engine knock and therefore premium fuel isn't going to solve anything. Usually, turning in and out of driveways and parking lots involve more steering lock than normal driving, and the knocking from that one side could be the CV joint.

It could be the valves that needs adjusting. Funny that this is something you should do everything 60,000 or every 48 months as a routine maintenance.

you'd never hear that in the cabin. It would most likely be a
cv (clickety click)
a wheel weight strucking something,
a worn lower arm bush (they slide around when worn, it causes a knocking),
a bad shock (moving freely at the bottom, in the strut),
a mis fitting brake pad (sliding in the housing),
a wheel not properly done up (thunk thunk),
a CV main nut (forget correct name), improperly tensioned (spline moving back and forth)
a bad engine mount ? weak and allowing a connection/strike somewhere

that's all I got.

Is it knocking while you drive or is it knocking with engine on and you're stopped?

Sounds like cv joint, but could also be a ball joint and/or tie rod that's loose
