Suggestion
Just a thought. I was a member in the infiniti forums when I owned one and one thing I enjoyed very much was they had a section within every model that covered the following:
Audio
Suspension
Lighting
Mods
Etcetera
Maybe this forum does not have the amount of traffic for all of that but would be nice to have.
For example
ES300 2d Generation forums
Lighting
Audio
Mods
ES300 3d Gen
Lighting
Audio
Mods
FX Tech (2003-2008)

Infiniti FX Technical Forums.
FX (03-08) - FX35 Engine & Drivetrain,
FX (03-08) - FX45 Engine & Drivetrain,
FX (03-08) - Boost, Track & Tuning,
FX (03-08) - Interior & Exterior,
FX (03-08) - Wheels & Suspension,
FX (03-08) - Electronics & Lighting,
FX (03-08) - Write-Ups,
FX (03-08) - Warranty & TSB

I like it. It would help keep the discussions separated and have experts chime in on the specific subforums, instead of searching through pages of random threads. They already have that for some Lexus models, like the more popular IS, so it shouldn't be a problem to incorporate. Last but not least, welcome to the forum. What kind of ES do you have?
The idea would be good if you are searching for a particular problem, but would make it very difficult for those that want to read input on a daily basis. The current method allow quick scanning of daily issues and you can select those of interest to the reader while ignoring the others. If I had to open a folder for each of several areas every day I would ignore this forum as too inefficient to bother with.
This forum offers a search for those looking for specific areas or problems.

Been a member of the forum since 2008 I currently own a 02 ES300 and an 07 RX350.
That is the idea. Most of us come in here with just issues we need resolved or looking for advice on how to for example add an AUX port to our stereo. It is very difficult to search through random threads for this. If there are subforums dedicated to these topices I am sure one, two, three or maybe more members will become the resident experts in those areas.

All good points Jay
I think another aspect that we need to think about is Mods. We tend to behave well enough that they don't have to watch over us, but that also comes at the price of lack of Sticky Threads, Subforums, etc.

Perhaps on a busier forum, sure.
This section doesn't even have ACTIVE mods... I've messaged Admin about this, a good two years ago. Been waiting on response since. Was given "we're looking at our options", this was around the time that the "regulars" were posting wicked step-by-steps and DIY's, which I'm afraid are now lost in the 30+ pages of threads of [mostly] garbage in these forums...

I think there is a lot of truth to all of it. One thing is clear, we can't see the big picture without organization. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. We need to try different things.
I agree organization would help. A lot of new club members end up posting double threads and get ridiculed for not searching when in reality, it's not easy at all to search for what you need. Not sure how we'd go about this but I'd be willing to help.
^ PM DaveGS4 with your concerns then...
as mentioned above, don't hold your breath... I wasn't kidding, I was very active on here and I volunteered to be a mod, and heard nothing but crickets for the next year... goes to show how much this section gets overlooked!
Too bad you guys' never witnessed this forum from back in the day when the OG's still had ES'
