Default Heated Steering Wheel

Hello -

Did not know that there was an option for the heated steering wheel and now I want it!! I got the premium model with navigation/camera package and did not know about this option.

Is it possible to get it upgraded? Any idea on the cost?

Thanks,
Maya

I'm sure you could get it upgraded, but the cost would be REALLY high for the feature.

I agree, I think the cost would be prohibitive. Invest in a nice pair of gloves...

honestly, you're not missing out on much. Its only heated at 9 and 3, leaving most of the wheel to continue freezing your hands. And that wood gets COLD.

I love it! I used it this morning and my hands were nice and toasty!

I agree. While it would be nice if the heating covered a larger area, as the weather here has turned colder, I have come to really enjoy the heated wheel. It does require me to keep my hands an inch or so lower than I normally would, but what I especially like about it is how quickly it starts to put out heat, which is really nice to have during the time it takes for the car's heat to start warming up the interior.

On a related note, I'm finding that the heated seats in the ES are the best that I've had in any vehicle, and, like with the heated steering wheel, what I especially like about the seats is that they start putting out warmth within seconds of the time that they are turned on.

Still, I agree with the others that trying to add, after the fact, the heated wheel, if it is even possible, would likely be very, very expensive.

I’m afraid I have to thoroughly disagree with this statement.

I have an Ultra Luxury Edition with the Heated Steering Wheel and I can truly say that it is a pleasure to have this feature.

Yes, it would be great to have the entire wheel heated, but even with the heated elements at only 3 and 9 o’clock I just don’t see a problem, Yes, my hands leave those positions when I am turning, but when I finish, I just put them back there and it feels sooo good on cold days.

I also wanted to note that I don’t normally drive with my hands at those positions, but when it is cold and I have the heated steering wheel on, My hands instantly return to where the heat is. Also as others have stated, it heats up really fast.

You know the 3 & 9 position is currently the suggested position for your hands. I was taught 10 & 2, but I guess with airbags and potential airbag deployment, your arms and hands may fly into your face vs away at the new position.

So the location of the heated steering wheel is the perfect location although the entire wheel would be best for warm hands.
