j ust got my new car last week. tungsten pearl,black interior with navigation. i noticed that on the lower left of the trunk lid the chrome lexus sign was missing. fearing the car may have been damaged, i called the dealership.i was informed that the 2011s no longer have the lexus name on the trunk lid. this was done because lexus feels the L badging is now universally known as the lexus symbol. snob appeal may be another reason for this subtle change.

 

I'm surprised he didn't try to sell you the genuine Lexus Appearance Package... Chrome Lexus Name Badge for trunk lid, a Lexus Reusable Recyclable Trash Bag to hang from the glove box, Lexus chamois and a bottle of genuine Lexus detailing spray... $129.

 

I heard they were removing the Lexus name from most, if not all, of the models. I believe BMW and MB have done it too.

yea..it's not really cost cutting...there was a press release about it..they are cutting it kuz they want to do the same thing mb and bmw is doing..they think the symbol is well known enough that people shoudl already know that it is a lexus
