Hey man thanks for the detailed post. I just got some 3M professional hand glaze. I did my trunk, as you said. I wasnt aware that glaze and polish were the same. I was thinking polish was more of the paint cleaner. I will go pick up some "paint cleaner" so I can get it looking even better. BUT OH MY....DOOD your RX LOOKS AMAZING. I have never seen a nicer looking black paint job on a street car. MAD props to ya! Thanks for all the help. After I glazed and waxed mine, it looked pretty damn good.

- I dont think that the gold class clear coat wax is a cleaner. I think its a finishing product. I dont think its the caranuba stuff tho (SP) I might have to go pick up some of that S100 stuff or whatever.

Thanks again,
blux

Gold Class is a cleaner wax...Meaning it's a wax that has has the ability to also clean the paint and polish it too. I know it sounds weird, but that's why it can look good, because it's supposed to do it all. But it has poor durability, though, and doesn't provide the wetness and swirl/scratch coverage that a true polish or glaze can.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze? Basically the same as Meguiar's #7. I think it's a little more "grabby" when trying to buff out by hand, but it will look great when you're done. Just remember, you have to wax when done glazing. You don't have to glaze every time you wax. Depending on the weather, I wax every 3-4 weeks and glaze every other time.

Thanks for the kind words. As I said, black cars are special. You can get a real workout trying to make it look good. Arms like Popeye.

Good luck.

Call your local Harley-Davidson dealer and see if they have S100.

no, no S100, just some scratchX on the scratches, 3M glaze, and some topping wax from mequiars. =)

GLAZE = WAY TO MUCH WORK BY HAND.... lol

Have to get an orbital polisher...

Glaze...I told ya it was grabby.

Gold Class wax? Good stuff. Just not too durable.

The pic I uploaded was the one shot along the left rear quarter panel with the Dodge truck refecting across the gas tank filler door.

Very sharp. I hope you took it out and showed it off (The car, that is).
