Nah dont even try it. A good wax will do the same thing for clear coat scratches.

A wax will not remove scratches, at best it will fill them.

If the scratch is isolated to one area, go with ScratchX. If your entire car is swirled up and scratched look into polishing the whole deal.

This is assuming that the scratch is only in the clear coat and not any deeper.

thanks guys!! I think I will try the scratch x, the scratch is just on 2 different spots on the hood of the car, it's not deep and can only be noticed in the direct sunlight.

Thanks for the tip Kickin8, I'll try it out this weekend. I was reading some reviews on it. Hopefully I can get the scratches off in a 2-3 applications as the instructions say.

Want to remove scratches? You need a Porter Cable 7424 at least and a lot of other products. About $300 worth of stuff just to get started plus some experience. By hand? Good luck. Start your learning here: www.autopia.org
