Default Sell or Keep?

Got an offer on my 98 ES300 with 115k miles, i am the 2nd owner and car runs good without issues, timingbelt service, rear struts were just replaced. it needs front strut&strutmounts and lcd on cd player, and little rust around rear wheelwell. and they offered $5300. Now should i sell it and move on? or keep it.... if i do sell it what kind of car would you guys get for around $12-13k? considering year/mileage, i was thinking about 05 g35 sedan with 50-60k miles if i get lucky... your input would be appreciated.

hmmm, depends if you want another car payment or not and it looks like your ES has all the proper maintenance done. If you do sell it, will you need to get another new car right away, or can you take your time and shop for a good deal to come up?

wow!

Take it and run. If you remotely considered selling now is the time while the offer stands!

You will NEVER see such digits in the near future...

for a car thats over a decade old, i say sell it. thats a pretty good deal, considering the high mileage and MY. but if you dont want another car payment, keep it. like you said, the maintenance that was necessary (timing belt, rear struts) were completed. but that is a great deal for a 98.

on a side note, when we sold our es in 2007 (it was a 92 and but around the same mileage), we received about 6k for it. i guess whoever bought it really wanted it to be a project car or something. the car wasnt worth nearly 6k, so we had to give it up for that price. great car. it ran smooth, great for a daily driver, but money does talk. good luck!

The money offered is a great deal for you, but I don't think I would ever finance a 5year old vehicle for 5years as you were stating!

so you guys think $5300 isn't a bad offer at all? i mean it does need minor stuff such as lcd on radio, front strutmounts and struts, heated seat doesn't work, and minor rust around rear wheelwell, other than that it's running perfect...

I would say that is not a bad deal at all. I picked up my 94ES for 2k. New engine, front struts, brakes,exhaust...ect. I have only had mine for a while, but it love it.

$5,300 for for a 98 es30 with 115k is not bad at all considering the economy and private market value. if u really want the g35 i say sell it. if u dnt want payments, dont sell it
