Default A question for Flipside909????

I was wondering if you and Team SC3 ever found a solution to the headers problem? Am I just looking in the wrong places? Is there a header out there for the 1MZFE? As far as my Tech told me, if I can find headers for the 1mz it will also bolt onto my 92 motor. Is this true? I hate asking silly questions but you know your stuff so info would help me out, and I’m not asking as a first resort I have done my research and haven’t found much. I remember talks of EL prototypes headers, did that ever work out? Is any one with a Camry or Solara running performance headers out there? Anyone at all?

Yeah, we've been looking for other sources for headers. ELP would be a place to look...but they are so booked with so many projects it's hard to get them to turn one over in a short period of time. A good shop can make custom ones but it can go in the price range of $1000 and up. No one that I know of is running upgraded aftermarket headers on their 1MZ-FE or 3VZ-FE unless they had it done custom. We are still finding a solution for the headers unfortunately.

Thanks Flipside909. Now I know for sure, at least that I’m not overlooking one out there, but my question is this...since I do have the 3VZ-FE from 92 is there any other stock Toyota header that was made since then that might perform better like a 98 1MZFE header? Or are they all identical since 92? Is there any hope at all? One more quick question? Did the Solara ever come with a stock strut bar? Or is there another one out there offered other then the one I already have? I would like a flat rectangular shaped tubing. Please let me know? Thanks for you knowledge on Toyotas.

Hotshot will make custom headers for you, but you must send them your stock one.

There are currently no aftermarket production headers for any V6 Camry/ES300 unless it was custom made. Yes the Solaras do come with a stock strutbar. The flat rectangular shaped bar is available through TRD. It was once a strutbar which only came with TRD S/C's for the Solara models....since it had to replace the OEM strut bar. The TRD bar allows clearance for the S/C belt and the S/C itself. www.toyotaparts4u.com sells these strutbars seperately from the S/C now. I'm not sure if it will fit your VCV10 chassis but it's worth a try.

People can choose what they want to do. It's not your place to tell people what they can and cannot do. If you know the ES is a FWD with understeer characteristics, why did you even bother to buy one? OR If you aren't an ES300 owner...what are you doing here?

Your right it is a year old and there wasn't headers then but there is now, does age make the question obsolete?

Thats a 2 1/2" that will bolt up but its no longer in production. I have just finished prototyping the new 3" that seems to work much better with the headers then the 2 1/2" and next week I have to dyno to verify this. We have a Camry coming in on Monday to do a prototype Y-Pipe on, it will be intresting to see how it works with the 3" cat-back.
