1995 ES300 trunk lock release switch on drivers door has worked fine all summer, but now that coller weather is here (Canada), it only works intermittently. Any ideas? I thought I would start with the door switch, then connectors.

 

It is a common problem 92 thru 96 and has been posted before with no real answers... one thing that seems to be consistent with that problem is when it dosent work you can open the gas door first and the trunk will then work... it seems to me to be associated with the security system acording to my fsm...

 

^That weird and the first I've heard of that could it be the mechanism the opens the trunk kinda freezes up when it gets cold.

 

mine does it intermitently hot or cold I think that you will find that once yours started doing it it will do it when it warms up as well..
