I am traveling out of town and my CD player suddenly stopped playing. (I was right in the middle of a great audio book!) I listened to 2 CD's, then it just stopped. The audio is on; I hadn't pushed any buttons. I have 6 CDs loaded. I tried to switch to another CD, and it still wouldn't play. I tried to eject--nothing. The amber light comes on, but nothing happens. On the audio screen, I can push track 3, for example, and it blinks for a little bit, then goes off. I wondered if it had gotten hot or something, but I've stopped for the night and it still won't play or eject. I'm in a little town with no Lexus service around for miles.
I did turn on FM and it works fine, so it's a problem with the CD player only. Anyone got any ideas?

Your CD player is screwed most royally. Looks like a warranty visit to the dealer is in order.
When I started the car this morning, one of the CDs ejected. Now, it is working just fine. Tomorrow is another long day on the road, so I'll see if the problem repeats. I'll have to wait another week before I get back to the dealer.

Wow! How lucky is that?! Was the CD warped or dirty? Was it the CD you were playing when the whole system shut down?
I made it back home with no more CD problems. I played the same ones that were playing when the player stopped. I ejected all of them when I got home, and they were extremely hot to the touch. Has anyone noticed that with their CDs?
