I have just inherited a 92 es300 with 137k miles, (It hasn't been driven in a few months and the battery is dead) I cleaned it up and replaced the oil and air filter, cap, rotor and plug wires (how do you take out the plugs on the firewall side?)after a new battery it came alive! this baby rides nice! now
while driving around town last week I was at a stop sign, I turned on the AC and the engine stalled?
I was able to restart but now the engine light is on, and it feels like it's only running on three cyl.. after a few minutes I reved the engine a couple of times and the engine light went out? but then it came back on again?
ON some info. that i got online the IACV could be dirty? or the ECU is bad?
I'm going to take apart the iacv this weekend, if that doesn't do it I'll go for the ecu.
any suggestions ...

So, you have 3 new spark plugs and three original spark plugs. The rear bank O2 sensor is more than likely the cause. Have the rear plugs replaced, if you don't have the correct tools to do it yourself.

It's almost impossible to reach the rear bank of cylinders to change the spark plugs.....Originally Posted by Tammy

You have to take off or move a couple of things.... Have a few different extensions and ratchets.

It's a possible job... But one is recommended to use an anti seize paste on the plugs and proper torque. (a quarter turn past finger tight on the new plugs, 12-15 Ft lb)

You need an extension and a flexi-shaft extension to do the rear plugs.
I highly recommend forgetting it. Just take the upper intake manifold off in the first place (Because cleaning it will give you power back), changing the plugs/wires, dizzy cap & rotor, setting the ignition base timing, changing the PCV valve, cleaning the throttlebody, manifold, IAC, and EGR valves is many times easier.
Once you've done it once... You can do it again in less than 10 minutes with hand tools. It's not as complicated as you think it is!
Short TE1 and E1 in either diagnostics port with a wire, or paperclip. Whatever. The check engine light will flash the code. Then look the code up (or tell us and we'll do it for you)
*edit*
(shhhhhh Black plastic box right behind the passanger's wheel well in the engine bay. Says DIAGNSTIC on it)
If it feels & sounds like it's running on 3 cylinders... It probably is. I'm putting money on you:
1) Put the 3 front plug wires on in the wrong order & you're running off the rear bank
2) Put all the plug wires on in the wrong order & you're running randomly
3) Put the dizzy cap on incorrectly & you're running randomly
4) any combination of 2 & 3

I counted the flashing engine light after shorting TE1 and E1
and here's the sequence :
2-4-3-2-5-5
I think this is the code!
I need a good set of manuals for this car..I looked in ebay.
Any other sites?
thanks!

Error code 2-4-3-2-5-5
what is the fix?
now it won't even start!

how do u guys forget he said a/c came on and then had problem. it sounds to me like a/c compressor could have an internal problem, there's a short in the coil, causing a huge cuurent draw that caused your weak battery to give out [unles it was nVERY ew battery then forget it], the bearing in it could be on the fritz. the IACV could be faulty - easy to check that for sure.
