A few days ago the CD player/changer pretty much quit working on me while I was driving along. Basically, regardless of which disc I select, it eventually flashes the "Err" message. The owner's manual suggests that the disc can't be read, meaning the CD lens reader is probably dirty and needs to be cleaned. Before I buy one of those CD cleaner discs, is there the possibility that someone else is wrong? Has anyone had an issue like this and how was it fixed?

 

it happened to me once, and i just tried taking out and reloading all my CDs and magically it worked again. good luck

 

This also happened to me before in my '96 ES Coach Edition. Bought one of those $3 CD cleaner kits at the local mall music store, and ran the cleaner in the CD changer a couple of times. I couldn't believe how much dust was removed from the changer! Anyway, the CD changer worked perfectly after doing the cleaning

 

I think this might be it for that CD changer. It wouldn't even take the ($19) CD cleaner disc! Gave me the same Error message

 

sorry to hear that, but look at it this way, now is the perfect chance/excuse to upgrade ur sound system
