I just noticed last night that when my door opens, the only lights on in the car are the center light on the ceiling, and the two lights on the underside of the door. Are there supposed to be footwell lights in a 1998, and what about the brighter light above the center console? Shouldn't it be coming on, too?

 

Sounds like all of your entry lights are working as they should! No footwell lights on a 98 and the front map lights only come on when you push the button to turn them on.

 

Omaha is right. Same thing for my '01 as well.

 

thats so cheap! when i open my doors at night i want to see inside.
not just the back seat! lol but i plan on doing the luxurymods kit of white LED's let me see if i can figure out howto wire up some footwell lights.

hey i thought the same thing wen i first opened the door at night on my 97 ES... so i spent about 50 bucks and got two white 12" neon tubes installed, i think that add quite a nice touch, what u guys think?

i wired them to the headlight fuse, so whenver my headlights turn on, they turn on with the rest of the lights
