Loose driver's side mirror
Hey Lexus experts!
My new (to me) 2014 ES300h has a loose driver-side mirror housing, which is annoying when I drive because the mirror glass is always shaking.
I saw YouTube videos that show how to tighten the bolts behind the interior door panel to remedy this issue, but in my case, I don't think that will fix it, because the actual base of the mirror (the part attached to the door) feels solid.. it's the actual housing above it that is wobbly. The mirror still folds and operates normally. Seems like the kind of thing that putting a shim would resolve, but I still want to be able to fold the mirror when I need to.
Is there something I can adjust behind the mirror glass in this case? Or am I better off ordering the entire assembly and replace the whole thing? If so, does anyone recommend a particular aftermarket brand that is reliable?
Update; I opened up the mirror assembly without removing it from the door to see if there is something that can be adjusted, and here’s what I found: Hope this helps to illuminate the issue. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0e5eerFLUd7LOboZvqi4PV4ew
looks like there are screws I can adjust from the underside, but I am not sure that they are reachable even if I were to remove the whole assembly.
Thanks all◡̈
