Driver's Mirror Dark?

I notice that my driver's mirror is always a bit darker than the interior rear view mirror. Is this typical or a sign that my mirror needs to be replaced?

If I remember correctly I think you'll find tha true of both your outside mirros. They may be autodimming like th einterior one is.
