It looks very much like your Oil Pressure Switch, the one that is designed to trigger the light on the dash. Looks like the connector got torn off together with a terminal, so you will need to splice a new one in with connectors like the ones linked below, the terminal itself can be found at the junkyards, and here you can find all the Part Numbers for Toyota connectors.
Here is an OEM one for a pretty reasonable price, it seems like your dealership quoted you for a whole sensor instead of just the connector, not everyone there even knows that those can be replaced.
I would really suggest to go OEM on this one, those will last a lot longer. And also don't forget that you still need a terminal to go along with it, the easiest way would be to cut one off of any connector at the junkyard, just make sure it has a rubber seal.
wow thanks for the link.
I have inspected my clip today and it looks good
I am fighting with getting the silver piece out of the plastic shell. I will try to reuse the plastic clip
Ill try the resources you sent earlier
thanks
Haven't thought of reusing the old housing actually..
Just pull out the white insert and lift the latch, make sure not to force the terminal until you lift the latch, otherwise you will simply strip the latch out and the connector can only be thrown out after that, other than that, there is not much complicated..
Ill take another look at the plug to see if it has those latches. I know on my Coil pack pins they were easily seen.
Thanks again will check back in when its all done.
