Default Trunk light

So there was a battery drain which resulted in alarm going off in the middle of the night on our 96ES300
After investigation found out that trunk light would stay on, draining battery.
Is there a switch thats supposed to switch it on/off when trunk lid is shut? If so, where's it at. I've tried tracing wires but they go into package tray area and I didn't see any switches.

I believe the switch is integrated into the power latch.

Your latch looks like this.

You'll have to inspect it to see what is going on with the switch (the thing with the black wire on it)

So I took a look at it today and everything looks to be hooked up properly. When I pushed that switch manually light didn't go off, should I replace switch or how would I go about fixing it. I'm not very knowledgeable in electronics, need guidance
