Default Top Problem

Hi Guys,

today I tried opening my roof... The trunk lid opened but the top didn't fold.. I closed it...

After restarting my car I realized the front switch for the top doesn't even light anymore...

EDIT: I unplugged the battery... replugged.. the switch opened the trunk lid again but top didn't move and switch was a solid red light... once I pressed closed, trunk lid closed and switch stopped lighting after (not responsive)

Any idea what it could be?

Thank you

Thanks for the reply, not sure what you mean by unlatch.. but problem seems to be solved luckily. It was a fuse blown for the quarter Windows. So I'm back in business for the good weather finally!!

Thank you

Wow, how scary is it when that complex mechanism seems to have failed?! Very cool you figured it out. I would be concerned as to why that fuse blew, but hopefully that's no big deal. Better to check it out before it goes critical if it ever does. Good job!

I had a problem too, but now it's fixed! Mine was a cable that came off the bracket that hold it and it wasn't unlocking the top roof. Now it's working smooth

Bimmer - which fuse blew?
ta1972 - which cable came off? (can you take a picture?)

Could be useful pieces of info for others later.
Thanks,
Harold
