Default brake pads recommended

hi all. my 2014 has 86k and i diy pretty much all the recommended service . i notice a slight noise when braking but not squeaking. since i diy i still see good amount left on the pads. but it is getting low. i believe they are still original pads!. i got the ct in 2016 had 30k. dealer only put new tires, when sold. lexus service stated they probably last 90k-100k. so i shopping for brake pads and maybe new rotors, slotted? drilled? or both?. or keep the using lexus parts. since i had no issues except brake dust on my new wheels lol. any info on pad materials and type rotors. thanks

definitely not slotted or drilled. you'd turn your already puny 11" brakes into 9" brakes. no need for that. just go with lexus parts.

on this car for brakes I plan to do ceramic pads, OEM or higher quality since they last so long.
And I agree stay away from drilled or slotted rotors.

You already have ceramic pads from the factory =P

that's why they suck. but also why they last long.

if anything i thought about trying out a metallic based pad--they're available cheap as the stock pads. just don't want to deal with brake dust.. plus the potential weirdness of blending with the regen braking... i'm sure our system is very carefully designed and calibrated with a very specific pad formula in mind. in other words, i think steel pads would make the braking very jerky. i dont know for sure though.

Haha i know thats what i mean. I would do ceramic (OEM or good aftermarket ones). I'm ok with the braking how it is, nothing like the last car but sufficient for 10 min 1/4 mile car

Default Brake pads

Thanks y’all Yea i agree also. Just wanted opinions of ct drivers. My cousin is a mechanic he also did not recommend slotted or drilled. He mentioned most aftermarket rotors was mainly for looks and that the hybrid braking is engineered differently. I was planning on staying with oem pads & rotors. Just wonder if another material less brake dust. Its shows on my new rims its mostly black with blue lip, polished face. So i clean them like everyday lol

The pads can last about 100k miles.
These pads are great. I bought them from amazon.
They make zero noise. I would not waste money on new rotors.

For budget conscious, RockAuto has really good prices on pads. I've seen them as low as $11 for a pair. But i would just get stock. i think they're like $37 on ebay from various Toyota/Lexus dealers. They're just 3rd gen prius pads.
