They won't do it for a few years minimum imho. Lexus has to be pushed so if BMW or Mercedes or Audi or Acura bring out a hot hatch - then they might respond as much as it makes sense to add the ES-Camry hybrid system to one they won't do it for awhile.
I'm not sure if they fit or not , but that's just semantics they would make it work if pushed.
It's hard to say if Lexus will bring out a CT 300h. The technology is there.
Looking at CT sales for 2012 Lexus sold 17,673. Not bad and is solid. In 2011 Lexus sold 14,381 CT's starting March 2011 (didn't quite have a full year). For 2012 the GS (higher priced) outsold the CT.
I believe the ES 300h is doing well (well received). Lexus could put that drivetrain into a CT or even an HS (if Lexus wanted to bring it back to the U.S.). We'll have to wait and see what Lexus does.
I really like the CT and a CT 300h with more power would be awesome and would keep up with Audi's S3/RS3 or Mercedes A Class AMG.
