Default SHOCKS for our CT200h

Hello all.

I have a 2017 CT200h. never had a problem, recently changed the CVT transmission fluid and regular fluids. 89,000 miles.
I bought new tires all 4 , in 2022. Today I brought them in for a free tire rotation and balance. Car rides and drives fine.

Guy said that the rear shocks are leaking slightly, and is causing the tires to scallop ? Tires have a lot of tread left, and I honestly could not feel the uneven wear he was talking about.

We dont place heavy items in the car, and its normally just my son driving solo. Lots of freeways miles..........maybe 80% . No load in the rear.

SO how long do the shocks last ? WHen to change them ? Is it time, or am I a victim of upsell ???

The shocks do not need to be replaced yet. There can be sign of a leak at one point, and it's still fine. You will know when it's time to replace them because you will feel it in the driving. If the tires are wearing out unevenly or prematurely, then the car needs an alignment. The shocks will not affect the tire wear.
