New KYB Gas-a-just rear shocks are bouncy
I put on 4 new KYB Gas-A-Just shocks for my GS300 and have a mechanic to check out afterward. Everything looks fine; however, the rear shocks are so stiff or bouncy on bad roads. I could feel every bump in the back even I installed new bump stops for the rear. Whenever I'm on good road or highway, the car is pretty smooth, no bouncing at all.
I haven't do the alignment yet since the mechanic does not recommend one. I set all my tires to 33psi. Should I lower the air in the rear? Get the alignment done? The front shocks are fine but I can't stand the rear on bad roads. Do these shocks need time to break in?
Thanks,

Thanks guys. I guess I will have to wait for a while. I was worried that my rear shocks were bad since they are so stiff My mechanic said everything looks fine. Should I lower tire pressure to maintain comfort ride?

kyb's
I used the gas a just kyb's on two vehicles and yes they require 1k plus miles to break in.If you can tolerate the break in I have found them to be better than Tokico,Koni and Bilstein.I even believe they have saved my life at least twice by preventing my car from rolling over.Once you have them broken in you might consider raising your tire pressure a little,I run 38 front and 41 in rear for optimal handling.Going out on a date or something 32 is fine, but anything lower lets sidewall flex too much. When Im going to race in a straight line(1/4 mile) I will drop pressure in rear to 26 with a radial and 18 with a bias ply tire to increase traction on rears at launch.
