I'm new to the forum and didn't see an intro section. Since I'm from Chicago I thought I'd post my intro here in the Chicago section.

I don't have a Lexus (yet), but I want to get an IS F. I've signed up here to get some ideas from all of you and once I get my car will have a place to share photos, mods, etc.

Yes I am. thanks for the welcome. I'm thinking about an IS-F, but also thinking C63 or M3. What do you have? Any suggestions?

If you're talking new m3 vs new is-f then I would go m3.

A couple of reasons why I can't/don't go with the M3. First, the sedan is no longer available. Second, I don't dig the interior of the M3 or BMWs in general.

M3/C63 vs ISF has been debated to death over the ISF forum. Each has it's own technical pros and cons, so now all that is left is YOUR objective view. Here's my easy objective view when I debated, I wanted a Lexus, so I got the ISF. Plain and simple.

Welcome and hurry up, get the Lexus so you can contribute to the CL-Chicago community.

I was in a similar debate, but was considering the ctsv2 more than the AMG though. I am super happy with my F. I think if I were to total it, I'd get another. As a daily driver all year long, its a great car all around. However, if I were getting a summer car, I would have considered some sort of coupe or convert a bit more.

It sounds like we are having the same debate actually. I remember taking the M3 sedan for a test drive (MY2009 I believe) and when I pulled into the dealer after the ride I said out loud "This is the car for me." It truly is an awesome car. I also remember taking the IS F for a spin and thought pretty much the opposite. And the C63 fell somewhere in the middle. What has brought me back to the IS F is pretty much the idea that I can get just as many options, if not more, in the IS F and for less money. I, too, will drive it daily so I want comfort, speed and dependability. Capt, how much have current models improved or changed from the '09s & '10s in terms of ride, fit & finish and other things?
