EV Price Wars Thread
Nothing at all wrong with that sales approach IMO. You've got EV-aware customers there for an extended period while their cars charge. Strikes me as a reasonable marketing effort. Go where the customers are, and give them something to occupy their time.
Lucid reported Q1 earnings or more accurately lack of. This company is in deep trouble. Inventory keeps going up cash on hand keeps dropping. For every car Lucid sells they lose $550,000, only way they can get out of this downward spiral is massively increase sales volume. Lucid sales people will be showing up at your school, church and house soon pushing a test drive.
They should drive to your house and take you for a test drive. I have too many things to do to fit in my schedule for test drives, so if they want to win my business on their $150k car, take it to me on my schedule... 🤷

I totally agree. What won me over with Polestar was that they brought it to my work and let me at it for 30 minutes. I was sold after that. No such luck with Lucid
That is so cool! Props to Polestar for that!
And for those wondering why Tesla triggered a price war, it's exactly for this reason:
"Lucid first-quarter revenue was well below estimates, and it forecast 2023 production at the lower end of previous guidance as Tesla price cuts hurt sales."
If I was in a dominate position, I use all the tools I have to put pressure on the competition making it difficult for them to ramp up and really compete against me. It's been in all industry and the car industry is no exception.

Not only is making cars hard, but I've been working for startups for 20 years, and 90 percent of them fail, so Lucid is facing a double whammy. Doesn't look good for them
You make it sound like Tesla's success is a fluke. Elon Musk does whatever it takes to succeed regardless of personal sacrifice does Peter Rawlinson strike you as someone that is doing the same? Guy turned out to be a double speak snake oil salesman. Should have spent more time figuring out his own problems instead of mocking Tesla now he looks like a complete fool.

Lucid is a combination of timing and mismanagement
