Here is a truck beating one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxWcM2mqC6g
Dodge https://www.youtube.com/shorts/99RIJoSggyY
GTR, there are so many GTR with stock motors and tunes that beat these it's not worth linking a bunch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e7VSs_mBrQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKOYMe3Dlnw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvl9UTN7uD4 https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8FiX_V4_Pyg Some from a dig some from a roll.
Viper doing runs outside of it's window https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozu5FrJ2xsU
A true street kill by a vette,C5/6/7s are so plentiful and any of them that makes 800wheel can win from a roll for under 40k total cost https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOEKoHxXWMg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTfb8s4eASc
Audi smacking one around badly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWQaAkYgftY
A few old hondas, the last one is just an ebay turbo. All of these are sub 15k builds.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0VWJJjx94c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdFx0Mvc3B4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLP704KdIlE
And naturally, stock engine 911s since they are rightfully the kings. You can take these to a far higher level than this but it's not needed to beat EVs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U98gBQ2WQ0M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uZ9D-XA1U0
There you go. There are so many cars faster than EVs it's not even funny, it doesn't even take all that much to build something that can take them down since a freaking F-150 with twins can do it. Heck, my truck can take down the earlier model S and if I really wanted to I could swtich to an R3 block and twins as well but I'm fine with "only" low 800s hp. There are so many way to make engines crazy fast but the one thing that is in common with all of them is that it is NEVER the hybrid versions that people make quick since the EV side of it is impossible to alter or control.
This is just as you asked, straight-line only, with under 300k price tag and pure gas engines. I made sure to include as many pump gas stock engine internals cars I could easily find in a quick search, there are so so so many fast combos for ICE cars that it would be pointless for me find them all since every brand has at least one killer combo that is a known pathway to these levels. You just end up seeing a lot of 5.0s, Hondas, and AWD cars since they are either cheap or easy to make fast. If you want to be the fastest EVs are a non-starter, especially if you do higher speed runs and I'll tell you now that higher speed stuff is really addictive once you get a taste of 200+. Nothing else compares to the feeling IMO

Since I'm an Audi guy I'll also throw in some TTRS builds even though they are cutting edge and not really fair to put up against just an EV, all stock engines other than turbo swaps. You can have one of these for 40k less than the tesla

Visit Texas sometime, it's really revealing just how fast things are outside of cali since there is nothing else to do lol!

I've been to Texas multiple times, my company has an office in San Antonio, everytime I travel out there and I've driven their hwy and roads multiple times. I love Texas and Texans, but I can't stand their hot summers and cold winters, and thunderstorms that suddenly come in and flood everything. Otherwise the people are awesome

Celebrating Lexus & Toyota from Around the Globe
You'd never make it down here is S. Fl, way too hot for ya. lol
Last few posts are interesting and maybe ya'll think a new thread for this subject? Could be fun.

//
>> About the Corvette, another car on my long bucket list but the prices ya'll are reporting for these from low to mid $100k's for new means
the used ones will be out of my price range what I'd be willing to spend.
Might have to remove from my list.
Saw a newer one the other day in Blue and it really looks and sounds good.
Not the newest like in this thread but it was unique in every way I could see.
The way the engine sounded it was definately not stock.
But it does show you, the hate goes back years, so do the arguments
