That's cause the Belt Parkway is hell, I cringed going over that only a week after getting my 18" HRE's. I hit a part they were paving and heard a nice bang while going 80 MPH, but not super loud that you know you screwed your rim up, but it was bad nonetheless. I hate the roads up here, I miss the roads of FL when I was in college, smooth as can be. If this winter is as bad as last, my HRE's won't be coming out until May so they can patch all the potholes up first. At least you know the anxious moments we have while driving the roads up here, it's a constant obstacle course, where you memorize what lane to be in at certain parts of the highway to avoid damaging your rims. It just never ends.

I dunno how I do it with 20's and a 3 inch drop. I welded one rim together already. No body kit because it will never survive ny.

"A" I went to Manhattan just a couple weeks ago and I couldn't believe ho wbad the roads were. I bent the rear wheel so now I have this nice vibration at 75 and over just great, my girl just loves it when he teeth chatter on the highway.
Ya we suffer everyday with the roads up here.

I think the key to driving in the city is going slow, thats the only thing that saves me!! That being said, I dont know if I could do it if the Lexus was my only vehicle, the grandpa creep over rough patches (the intersection of Pennsylvania and Atlantic in Brooklyn comes to mind) really gets tiring after a while, especially when your coming home from a night of clubbing and are tired!

I used to drive the Supra everyday and I liked the obstacle it presented to me. I have no problems at home though. Long live the island!

I don't think its all that bad..I guess I'm used to it by now...My car is 5 inches off the ground and I run on 18's...When you get used to it, you seem not to care as much...I bottom out once and awhile, my kit is strong as hell and it takes a lot of abuse..It hit a wall once (I let some idiot drive the car, he paid for the damage so its all good) and nothing really happened..Just a couple of scratches and I thought the whole bumper came off but it didn't..I was shocked!!

Last friday night, I went to the city and an SUV parked in front of me gave me this DEEP scratch but no cracks or anything...JDM

Yeah, SUVs tend to do that a lot. I had a lot of damage on my old car from tow hitches.

Today, I parked behind an ML, gave it enough space. Came back to the car later on, the idiot(s) behind me put 3-4 scratches on the rear bumper going from left to the middle. The SUV was still in front of me. lol..I was worried about the SUV, instead a Camry(i think) hurt my car..

NY drivers are not the only worst when it comes to parking. Look at what happened to the rear bumper of my ES in Connecticut a few days ago...

Come down to baltimore to witness our expert parallel parkers.

They bump around until they fit in the spot. I haven't done street parking in a year because of this.
