Anyone buying a sedan for trunk space....is not buying a sedan, and will get an SUV.

not surprised the Mercedes is #1. And not surprised the LS500 is #3…it’s also 5 model years old. The infotainment screen in the LS is just awful
It was unfortunately finishing towards the back of the pack in comparison tests 5 years ago too against cars that were a generation older. lol.

I see the value in the G90. Of course 6 figures is 6 figures, its expensive but within its class its quite clearly the cheapest car here with the most features for the dollar. Shopping feature for feature, the Genesis is still the value play.

How well does the G90 fair in terms of resale value?

Also, i dont know if Lexus changed the interior on the LS, but it looks different from what I remember. Zero continuity with that design. Either they changed something, or this class has moved on so fast in one generation that the LS interior looks about a decade old (or its both). Wow.

Personally see nothing in the LS that would make me want to purchase it over any of its competitors.
Lexus added the touch screen mid cycle. That ruined the interior flow. Used to be recessed.

100% agree. I remember them. LS is terrible. Really need a V8

LS460 was last as well when it debuted.

It’s issues go way beyond a V8…

I agree. The remote touch was bust. And the current infotainment screen is bad. The speedometer screen leave a lot to be desired.

Tight inside, not as refined and quiet as it should be, too "out there" for the target demo...

If I were to get one of these, it would be S and S only. Can't justify to pay for the upgraded IS/ES (Lol) and can't justify for the Korean name. Just can't. I know they are nice cars but for me, I just can't (yet). I'm sure it will be like getting a Samsung TV but not yet. Many do feel the same in my circle.

Looking back at the review, this was noteworthy:

The G90 goes down the road like a cruise ship should—at 70 mph, it whispers along at 64 decibels inside the cabin, the quietest of the group.
Genesis should consider making an EV version of the G90. It would likely end up a better car than the EQS too lol

I suspect they will, since they already have the excellent G80 Electrified, and the G90 is just a longer car on the same platform.

Im not so mad about tires since they are all AWD and with low power levels like in the test it won't matter. The 5-60 is also a poor indicator since so many cars try and get to 3/4th gear even at 5mph and have strange shifting when not driven by one person a decent amount of time.

I just want to see a loaded up (fully on converter) WOT dead stop to 60 so I can actually compare it to other cars and not wonder if the trans programing has adapted to the driver or not/are they being consistent. Reviewers take extra time to figure out how to launch cars they like vs not, you can see this all the time with Lexus vs others in reviews vs what the owners get. Meanwhile they actually try to get great 0-60s with German stuff

The S-Class is on another level than these other two. Mercedes puts tons of R&D money into it because it is a big seller worldwide. It's a real shame they didn't include the new 7-Series. Why not wait until you get access to one to review? It's the #2 seller in this segment. Imagine a family-sedan comparison test without the Honda Accord for example. The Genesis name is still not quite there. Lexus still offers more prestige. Also Lexus and BMW are still the RWD holdouts as all others come standard with AWD.

I can tell you having driven an S Class for 2 years now and having had two LS460s before it..."another level" is a smidge much. Its an awesome car and I love it, but I could go back to a modern interpretation of the LS460 with up to date tech no problem. The LS500 is not that.

But, that shows me that if the G90 is a good effort, its likely a car I could go to and be very happy for $40,000 less than a similarly equipped S500.
