Its all relative. A Corolla is waaaay on the wrong side of 3k lbs these days and a Camry is pushing 4k lbs. So a 4Runner or GX might be considered a relative lightweight given all the heavy duty hardware on it.

My GTI was only a little over 3.000 lbs, and I could feel it. That was the lightest "fun" car I owned. Even the GLI, being only about 100 lbs more, didn't feel the same.

I'd say that's about what I would consider light. Low 3,000's and under.

As for heavy, yeah... Anything 3,500 and up will feel heavier. I can tell our 3,500-pound 330i is lighter than our 3,700-pound IS 350, but it's not super noticeable in normal driving. However, I have driven cars of 4,000 pounds and up before, and that's where it really does become noticeable. Even something like a Jaguar XF, which has all-aluminum body panels, feels like the luxury midsize sedan it is. Some of this is tuning, but the fact remains that it is 3,800 pounds or so.

I'd say the heaviest car I've driven is a Tesla Model X P100D, and it actually hid its weight very well. That's mostly thanks to the enormous power and low center of gravity. This also translates to the Model 3, which, in Dual Motor form, also feels nowhere near its 4,000-pound curb weight. That's not particularly heavy, but it feels closer to 3,500, I'd say. Not light, but still agile.

This concludes my rambling.

I was shocked last week when I found out that current RAV4's hood and front quarter panels were aluminum.
Must be the same for Camry too.
