It has nothing to do with hate or love. People have the right to hate EV'S, people have the right to love them.
Awww I'm sorry my post was not directed at you or anyone and I am the king of putting my foot in my mouth and probably why I will be the first to apologize if I screw up cuz life has kicked me down and put me in my place so many times.
I have been lurking in the "General Chat"for 3 years before I had the courage to post here on a regualr basis and noticed there are a whole lot of members who do not post in this area.
It's very intimidating for a new member like myself to jump in and have an opinion on anything for fear of being attacked, especially in EV threads and I guess that is why I can see value in this thread.
Just to have a place for people to say why they hate EV's if that's what they wanna do- judgement free and maybe leave it here instead putting it every thread.
Add- might be a good thread to "Why I Love Ev's" too(judgement free) but just brainstroming.
That's all I have on that.
Anyone hate EV's?
Let hear it!
Tell us all about it!

To me, there is a lot more anti-ICE sentiment from the EV crowd than there is anti-EV sentiment from the ICE crowd.
A lot of the anti-EV backlash isn't really against EVs themselves. It's against the push from many to force EVs on others that aren't interested, for various reasons. Or make their lives financially miserable until they do.
I get what you were trying to do here OP, but threads like these always end up with the same few people attacking each other based on the opinions they hold. You've already got some "pro-EV" members chiming in on the opinions of others that they disagree with, so instead of the "against-EV" crowd entering the conversation on their own, they may feel dragged into defending their opinions from the get go, instead of having a civil conversation with the OP.
People who bury their heads in the sand and don't understand that fossil fuel is a dwindling resource, are the ones hating on EV's. They only look at their small bubble and think everything is just fine the way it is. Never once do they think, or care about what happens once they're gone. These people will never be convinced otherwise and will just grow angrier and more resentful of those that are thinking ahead and taking charge.
This is the same for any industry change, this is just on a grander scale than most. I wonder how many people that own EV's also have a landline. or are using AOL as their email provider? Change is hard!

This is the type of smugness that contributes to the discord. Not to mention that the whole "we are running out of oil" lie. There is plenty of oil for a long, long time. Plenty of time to convert without making people's lives miserable.

I don't mind that people don't like EVs. It's not for everyone and that's fine. Just don't spread FUD and lies about EVs without doing research. I've seen too many stupid lies flung around so of course EV people will be defensive. A lot of prior comments were not opinions, just FUD. It is what it is.

I agree. But FUD is the biggest weapon of proponents of EVs. You know, only 7 years left.
EVs absolutely have their place for many people. Trust the market and let it work. If the product is good enough, the people will come.
That is not a very long time. Maybe it's an eternity to you and me, but we need to not be selfish. Also, quoting someone with a vested interest in the industry is probably not the most reliable. It's actually closer to 47 years at this point. LINK
