For the Jeep most of the complaints are about the electronics, namely Uconnect. Fit and finish such as phantom noises that no one can figure out. Someone pointed out that the windshield is installed flush with the A pillar so when it rains the wipers sweep everything to the side of the vehicle and if your window is open, into the cabin. I looked at some of the Jeeps around me and compared to other cars, it is true. These little things Jeep just can't get right.
I actually didn’t know massage seats were available on MDX and the adjustable side bolsters are great. I really liked the interior. NAV screen was a PIA, much prefer BMW idrive with the **** and touch screen. They have handful TypeS in stock so I guess they may not be selling that great.

Wasn’t impressed by the Grand Cherokee for the price. Summit is $65k yet still comes with the V6 that is barely sufficient. The fit/finish are so so and I’m sure it will have issues.

We also went to local Tesla store and they had Zero cars on display! Next demo cars are coming in mid July to test drive.

The new MDX really seems like a winner

I really like the MDX, and can't figure why the Type S versions seem nailed to the lot during this period of no inventory.
If the RDX was as nicely done as the MDX Type S, we'd already have one. The use case for a 7 seater in our 3 person family is next to nil.

Interior tech is ancient.
I do like the styling on them.

Agreed - RDX needs a TypeS with 6cyl and more plush interior.
Wish MDX had a “shorter” version with 5seat interior, otherwise its a great product.
Besides the size, the Nav and gear change buttons are my top negatives.

You can order a Jeep with the V8 if you want to wait. The latest with the Jeep is leaking windshields due to poor application of glue and the seals.

Type S is tricky because non Advance model is missing the options like HUD, surround view camera, hands free power lift tailgate, roof rails, massaging seats, and heated rear seats. Those add up to almost $6k in price.

Now, you're almost at 73k and now you have other options. With a 10-12% discount it would be a great buy. Maybe when things settle down.

Well the sales guy quoted me $1,300 lease price for the fully loaded Type S - safe to say that is not happening lol

I’m just looking at all available options to see if anything really blows me away. Most likely i will stay with BMW.

I used to put on Max AC setting.

Ok, so I have an E70 X5, a F96 X6M, and used to have a F86 X6M, and the AC has never worked right in any of them. This is what I noticed over the years, and these are the steps I take to balance it out.

Depending on the outside temperature, usually in the evening when temperature is closer to 72 degree, the upwards vent below the windshield starts blowing downright warm air. It always blows air that is slightly warmer than other vents, and being that these cars have huge, tall cabins, and warmer air naturally rises up, the upper portion of the cabin is always hot and my head is sweating. I found that it is better to disable that vent completely, just have air blowing out of middle and bottom vents, and point the middle vents all the way up. This way the cold air is blowing up and then settles down naturally, and so the temperature in the cabin is much more balanced.

Another thing that helps, disable rear climate completely if nobody is riding in the back seat, makes it a lot easier for the cooling system to cool down the front, and you dont have to run the fans as fast. I also notice that sometimes the rear bottom vents under the seats blow warmer air, so its best to disable them.

I'm sure the MDX is a nice vehicle. I just can't see it as luxurious as those at that price level. Was the GLE you tested used?

Glad it fixed your issue. Must be tough for you. Max AC is loud. In any case, pre conditioning is a nice feature. Maybe now just buy your lease to enjoy the car the way it was designed?

Agree on MDX - i think it makes sense at $60k but at $70k not so much, that’s why TypeS are available at dealer. The had several TLX TypeS there as well.

No the GLE was brand new with like 50 miles on it.
The 4cyl turbo is loud and makes coarse sound.

I was reading BMW X3/X5 forums and didn’t realize BMW was eliminating so many features from new cars like power tailgate, memory seats, side bolsters, lumbar, fog lights etc. You basically don’t know until it gets delivered and many ppl rejected their orders for missing features.

You don’t want that 4 cyl. Try and drive a GLE450. It’s a whole different vehicle.

I would consider a highly optioned one to replace the S560.

No interest in 4cyl but They had no 450s or GLE53 to test drive.
Wait is 6months + for order on 6cyl cars.

There are plenty of 450s on the lot here. If you can find one to drive you could get one from down here no problem. Also plenty of V8 JGCs.

Yeah if you need a little more power go with GLE450. Just make sure you do some research on the battery issue. Some say batch related but it's worth checking out. IMO though GLE350 is fine. GLE is very nice when set up is right IMO. Plus, get the AMG style and 21". Well worth it. The std one looks so cheap even on dark colored cars.
