I had an Expedition rental in Canada last week and thought it was nice. Interior was nice to be in with decent materials. The powertrain could be smoother and the transmission searched a bit too much for my liking, but overall I got 23MPG driving from Toronto to Niagara and back with 4 adults, 2 kids, and a bunch of suitcases. My main complaint was that the auto hold / brake hold turned on too aggressively.
I actually find the Expedition's interior to be quite cheap inside, far worse than the GM vehicles. And their suspension tuning is far behind that of the GM vehicles - reminds me of the Gen 1 Expedition vs. the GMT800 GM SUVs.

I haven't drove any newer Ford or Gm trucks and suvs in many years.
From my experience in the past, the GMs always rode better but the Fords always help up better in the long term.

Definately nice, just not AS nice.

Didn't you say if you were parking somewhere shady you hide the keys somewhere in the car?
Someone breaking in here had better be hoping it's when we aren't home or they are dead lol!

I haven't been in the newer GM vehicles so I'll take your word for it. What do the newer GM vehicles ride like vs. the Expedition? I thought it was comfortable but floaty. Granted 95% of my driving was highway based and most of the roads were in good condition.

Its just not as refined, doesn't feel as solid, doesn't ride as well, they aren't as quiet, powertrain isn't as smooth...
The V8 in this is the best part, I am not happy they quieted it down but whatever, it is extremely refined and they do want them to be as luxurious as possible. In my LX the engine is extremely quiet until you gun it, then it gets loud and roars, I wish this Denali rumbled more like the last ones and my truck for that matter. Doesn’t really matter though, that monster 6.2 is there. I don’t care if an Ecoboost is faster, V8 only.

No side door to my garage. Pretty sure we have a rolling code opener.
Everyone knows you can manually lock your garages, right? There should be a slot and a thingy at the bottom, nobody is getting in there lol. It’s a PITA to do but if we had a vacation home or something we’d use it, etc.

I should caveat my statements that I haven't rented base model GM SUVs or Expeditions. The Tahoes I've gotten have all had air-ride w/Magnaride shocks, which makes it significantly more smooth over choppy pavement/potholes than the Expedition while handling better. Here's a rear suspension analysis that shows how sophisticated the GM trucks' setup is: 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Suspension Deep Dive | When the IRS is a good thing - Autoblog

Even rolling code openers can be opened, the door can be forced up by hand too unless its a screw drive opener. I have also seen them just randomly open.

Sure but doing that is a PITA, why not just not leave the keys in the car? Leaving fobs to keyless cars in the car will also run the battery dead.
I thought you meant the keys to the car lol, as in you go somewhere, park and hide the keys in the car vs carrying them
No no no no, never lol! I just relocate the physical keys I otherwise don't want to to carry on person.
Garage doors should be screw drive IMO, it's a better system and the door locks are also nice plus I think there are automated versions now if you really want them.

This leaving your keys in the car conversation is turning into the sequel to the "I like to leave my car on while getting gas" saga lol
Haha, truth

Haha, that disturbs me less!
Screw drive is much better, just more expensive so most people don't use them.

I’ve left mine open a few times all night… I now know why my buddy has a wifi/phone garage door opener.
