1997-2017 I hade no way of telling the actual year.

Not feeling the blue interior, too much 1980s Mercedes. But I'm glad they updated it, the other things that desperately needed it.

The blue works for me. I like the new screen.

Aren't you getting tired of Black/Gray/Beige/Tan interiors on most vehicles? Those same colors have been used Ad Nauseam for decades.

Have to see the screen from more angles, but doesn’t look bad there.

Not really. Most of my cars have had black interiors and I just love a black interior. I dabble with other colors here and there, but I always seem to come back to black.

Issue with colorful interiors to me is longevity. It’s like painting the inside of your house red, or purple. It might look awesome at first, but will it look awesome in a year? 3? 5? Committing to an all blue interior for years is a dubious commitment for me. So, my house is different variations of grey, some bluish, some greenish, and the inside of my car is black.

For instance I love the carmine red interior on the W223, but would I love it 2 years in?

‘I have black in my new 4R. I’ve begun to really appreciate it. Was really apposed to it at first. My older 4R is grey, I always somewhat disliked it but I’ve begun to appreciate it much more. Beige was always my favourite, I am beginning to like beige less and less.

I see what you mean on longevity. But I think on a sports car or coupe it works a bit differently. Most people don’t drive them as daily drivers either.

True, if its a car you don't drive that much, that may be different.

I discovered a cool feature on my S560 a few weeks ago and was using it today. I often show up for appointments and I'm early and waiting on people and I sit in the car. I hate idling the car and wasting gas, but I also hate sitting in a powered off car with no HVAC circulating, but MB has a feature where you can turn on the HVAC when the car is off. Even if its completely off, pressing the A/C button will turn the HVAC on and let it circulate heated or cooled air. Obviously not as powerful as when the engine is on, but it will keep the car conditioned if you are running into a store or something like that, or if you are sitting in the car. A simple press of the button again turns it off. Apparently this is an MB thing...

Blue or not, I think this is too much. I don't mind bright color leathers but this is just awfully too much. Something that changes like ambient light is fine with me. Maybe they need to adapt the color changing from BMW if they want to implement something like this.

Audi also has it, in my cars you just hold the recirc control until the light turns on and it will run the system once you open the door. Works better in the cold and uses the electric assist pump to cycle coolant though the front heater cores.

For summer/hot days it's limited by the fact the compressor is off but it still keeps the temp down. You can also set it to automatically cycle air out every hour for up to 4 hours when internal temperature is too high.

That is a really nice feature. I saw that years ago on a C or E class

On my BMW, I can re-code my "dual" button that syncs the sides to the "rest" function that it has in other markets. It works fairly well in the summer, but REALLY well in the winter, because it takes a LONG time for the antifreeze to cool down.

Is this called pre conditioning in BMW? I use it all the time. You have the option to have engine on or off.

At least for mine (which granted, is two generations old), in the markets where it's the default function for that button, it's labelled "REST" just like in Steve's picture. Not sure if that's still the current nomenclature.

Mine is labeled "ALL" because by default it enables and disables the dual-zone feature:
