Glad those of us who have less money than you paid for your discount on your $90,000 truck.
They can barely give them away here.
They are not selling, not meeting projections, that's a fact. How many total are sitting on lots again??
"The most significant vehicle in history" or one of them, is a dud--- and a snail could have predicted it.
California is among the top tax paying states, so I mean no insult when I say this, but I can pretty much guarantee that any tax credit he got didn't come from your state

Isn't it a federal tax credit? I really don't want to get into California. I lived there, I know it well.
I'm not on any side either, I would be just as opposed if this were for anything, ICE, EV,....a freakin UFO.

Yes, but on a scale, the Federal government collects most of it's taxes from California and NY. That's because of the larger populations. So more than not, it came out of our pockets as well as some grumpy New Yorkers

I know, but it's more complicated than that. Hence why I don't want to get into economics.
Tennessee, my state, is #1 for fiscal stability, or it was for a couple years in a row.
That said, IF none of that tax credit came out of my family's pocket, good.
Yeah, forget it.... And forget it about the Ford. This is about the CT. If I were filthy rich and had like 7 cars, my Tesla would no longer be a Plaid it would be the fastest one of these.
We live in strange times. Cybertruck is the first production vehicle with drive by wire (I think) and the first production vehicle to use a fully implemented 48 volt low voltage architecture. No one cares, all people want to talk about is styling and panel gaps.
triggered much? i think that's a ludicrous opinion.
Sorry, as a person Elon doesn’t do anything for me at all. He’s basically an Oligarch, petulant, hateful. Elon is an example of somebody with great vision that hit early in life and has so much wealth that his mistakes and failings are pretty hidden. He has so much rope that he has to fall a basically impossible distance to hang himself.
Anyways, I did see the Cybertruck in person today at Montgomery Mall. I gotta say, it’s pretty cool. Would I ever buy one? No but it’s still pretty cool.

so i guess you think most people read a hundred books on rockets to learn how to make them and get spacex literally off the ground.
most people sleep on the factory floor of tesla putting every ounce of energy and smarts into making cars and fixing problems.
sure the initial paypal win helps a load, but he still put in insane amounts of effort.
bill gates also worked for DECADES at 80-100hrs a week. was a total work maniac long affer he became a billioanaire.
it's usually a similar story with most billionaires. they work VERY VERY hard. sure, most are probably not likable too. can't have everything.

just like other billionaires. i have 1 friend who is a billionaire, and a few work acquaintances around that number. the friend was laser focused on one field since a teenager. one of the others definitely got lucky.

Like I said I don’t fault the vision, or the effort. Much of the drama of sleeping on the floor and “working 100 hours” is for display and for his own ego, he does not need to sleep on the floor, he does that as part of his “image”. He has had the money and the magnetism to attract the right people. Elon Musk does not know how to make a rocket lol. He’s not a rocket scientist, he knows how to find and attract talent and direct it towards a vision…and he loves to take credit for what other people do.
Brilliant, visionary, pretty terrible person. Like you yourself said not uncommon.
