In the demo on the video, it tops and then starts up again because it is too hot outside, for what to save a little gas? The truck is $60K...that should hardly be of any worry. Toyota does indeed list it on their website
:
Yes I noticed that, too. Horrendous. I always assumed the a/c stays on. The engine cutting out is bad enough. These start stops are even worse than I thought. Starting to understand why some jailbreak it.
need part time 4WD to improve the mpg. Full time 4WD sucks mpg
I'm talking about the Auto 4WD where it stays in 2 until it senses slippage, like all the domestics do. Or they did, my 2003 GMC has that and it works well. I think the front wheels are connected to the drivetrain in Auto 4WD, but I'm certain no power goes to them unless the rears slip.

It would just inflate the price. Trucks are for work Some of the gimmicks are kinda over-the-top A power plug and all that stuff is important, but I'd rather see Toyota do something like full-time 4WD like your LX and my 4Rs have. Or maybe auto-4wd
in the demo the start stop kicks on because he has brake hold on. If brake hold isnt on then the engine doesnt turn off.
So you can't turn off the start/stop when you have HOLD on? I'm confused, if that's how it is I don't like it.
Agree, and nice observation. I haven't heard a thing about it until this.
from my understanding the engine only turns off if you have brake hold enabled. If you don't want it to turn off with brake hold you have to click the button. I assume you will have to click the button each time you get back in. However, I rarely use brake hold so it wouldn't affect me. When I do use brake hold I would actually want the engine to turn off.
on the tundra it only activates when brake hold is enabled by the driver...atleast that's how it see.s. so no you don't have to always turn it off.
So I looked in the manual. It always works. Regardless of brake hold. It always re-engages each time you start the Tundra. Does not work if less than 23F outside. The windshield defogger must be off.
This guy got 22.6 mpg on a 50 mile trip. Highway with moderate traffic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm7MKBdmwrk
One feature he showed which I am not sure if it is available anywhere else, the auto start stop only activates if you use brake hold. The best implementation of that feature I have seen.
2WD base-ish model with a smaller cab, so that checks out.
Not sure how accurate it was but I read there is already a year wait.
I know it’s older than dirt but the old one is still an immensely capable and nice truck. It has a sweetheart of a V8. Massive torque from large displacement is the order of the day.
not sure about a year wait, maybe for a hybrid trd pro but we're hearing spring/summer of 2022 for those. the 22's are rolling into dealerships all over the south and making way east/west/north. norcal prob gets them this week and next per dealers. the imax pro hybrid engine won't be available until spring next 2022 which is what i'm waiting for. will either get a 22 or 23 trd pro which only comes in hybrid.
i've had a supercharged 08 since new and after 13 flawless years i'm ready for a new one. hopefully i'll have the same experience quality and reliability wise.

Funny you mentioned that, I saw a silver one yesterday on I-580 with Dublin Toyota plates
The new Tundra looks awesome in person. Pictures don't do it justice
