Less than 75% tow their trucks more than once a year.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/26907/...cowboy-costume

3/4ths couldn't give a crap about towing. To add insult to injury, only 70% go off-roading once or less a year. A full 35% don't use the bed more than once to haul stuff. For a huge portion of America, this will be much much much better overall for them than a ICE that consumes 15mpg.

Ford has done extensive testing I guarantee.

Where is there a 5% grade that lasts for 100 miles?
From my house to Athens is 5% total grade. It would be a PAIN to make it out there with a trailer vs what I do now in the Toyota

Then why did you buy a truck? Just rent one as needed......the point of a truck is a one and done all in one. If it can't do that then just rent one and use an EV car day to day

Its not a 5% grade the entire way. You will have periods of 5% grade, level road, and grades downhill

Just get a car is the real answer for most people, however everyone wants the just in case capability of a truck. Modern trucks are way better than 15 by the way....

70% go off roading once or less. only 30% do it more than once. The majority don't go off roading...more like going shopping in suburbia.

People like trucks, and there are a lot of uses for a truck other than towing. One thing thats awesome about this is the ability to use it as a generator, imagine camping with this and having access to all that power.

Not really. Overall my Pacifica gets 17 MPG, my LS460s were 16 MPG or so. They do better on the highway sure but overall driving in a modern 1/2 ton pickup 15 is very good.

Lifetime MPG on my S560 is 19.6...

Uh....I would NOT want to tap into my only way to move the car around on a longer trip or camp. I bring a panel with me instead to run a battery bank for stuff.

True. My Jeep goes 5 times a year on paths that would kill a highlander class vehicle though so I can say I actually do use it's abilities.

Yeah...anything under 20mpg is just bad. Some people don't care but I'd rather have a truck EV to do city stuff that gets 70mpge with a 0-60 in 4s. I'm pretty sure the 200k other pre orders are thinking like me.

I've haven't bought it, I'm on the pre-order waiting list. I thought I already mentioned I'm not going to follow through with buying. I'm going to hold on to my Sienna for the next few years. I may buy one to replace my Sienna in the next 5 year or so. My Sienna has been paid off for the last 7 years, and I have easily another 10 years of life on it

More power to you. I never disputed that ICE is better for range, towing, off-roading, and track sessions. For everything else, give me an EV.

Depends on how far you have to drive to camp.

You don't realize how much battery capacity something like this has for uses such as running lights or a refrigerator or something like that. This will power your home for 3 days at 30 kwh a day, which is the average usage in the US. I'm a HEAVY power user, my home uses about 60 KWH a day, so it can power my home at full use for 36 hours. A full refrigerator uses about 1.23 KWH per day. Powering some lights, a mini fridge and a speaker system is no problem.
