I don't agree about having no room for improvement, but I do agree that this will fall short for some with "truck duties". As I've discussed before, this would not be an option for me as I tow, which destroys range to the point of being unusable for my purposes. But this will work great around town and for Home Depot trips and the like.
It will perform all the duties it was built for, and how many people actually haul boats and trailers on a consistent basis? If you are one of those that hauls boats and trailer on a consistent basis, then this is not the truck for that person. But for 80 to 90 percent of people I know and see that own pickus (Silverado, F-150, RAM etc) they don't use their trucks for that purpose

Most definitely. I think it's great, it just won't fit my needs.

That's different. In that case it would be silly to buy this truck. I would never be hauling anything more than stuff that fits in my Sienna, so it would fit my purpose perfectly. I'm not getting it at this time because I still have a ton of life left in my Sienna

I didn't realize they were prohibiting that. I doubt they could enforce it though...not like its an exotic or anything. This would be a perfect truck for people that don't need to do commercial duty work.

TRX will kill it. Most decent cars kill it, takes a tune to gain 100+ on modern cars. It's range is also too short for towing and recharging takes too long if you are using it for any actual work.

Its about the same speed as a stock TRX but the TRX gets like 11mpg. Uhg. If you don't tow much and haul things like furniture on occasional weekends, its a much much better car for most people that don't need it for work. I bet TRX owners don't use it for work either.

Sure, but the difference is it CAN be fully used for that plus flying off-road and also can pick up 100hp to drop the 0-60 of 3.8 that most reviewers got to 3.2 that both owners in my subdivision hit consistently. The gas cost is offset by the fact the truck is cheaper as flat out does more than the 92k ford. The TRX is actually desirable unlike this

Lol. This thing will outsell the TRX by many many magnitudes. Pre-orders are over 100k already and it was cut off.

How many people modify their work trucks? I did specifically mentioned stock. And it can haul 1,400 lbs and go 300 miles with that load, and supports fast charging. It's Fords first gen EV truck built for light to medium duty work. F-150 is the most popular truck here, and do you know how many people use it for heavy duty hauling? 99 percent I see on the road have an empty, clean as a whistle truck bed. For people like me and people who do basic hauling, camping etc and for people who go from construction site to construction site, it's the perfect truck with tons of cab room and a humongous Frunk that can hold 400 lbs. It does 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds, goes 300 plus miles on a full charge, supports fast charging and best of all, get around 85 MPG. And it's pretty inexpensive starting out at $39K, the long range model which I would buy is $55K, and that's before the $7500 fed tax credit and $750 from the state of California

They've exceeded 200K. I would buy this over any other truck on the market. Rivians are probably better trucks, but way to expensive

Ford hasn't revealed an official 0-60 for the Lightning yet, but almost every other key metric which has been revealed has been better than the estimate. It was the same with the Bronco, actual HP/torque etc were greater than the initial estimates. Acceleration for the higher output Lightning is likely close to 4 seconds, we will know soon enough. Some early reviews are claiming around 4.

The 0 to 60 times don't really matter, especially when it comes to a pickup, but does everyone notice how the detractors can't even get themselves to acknowledge anything positive about the Lightning? Suddenly they need something that hauls yachts (you know, the ones in their backyards they need to move everyday), can carry a 10K load, and can go 1000 miles without stopping and has to be able to fully recharge in 2 minutes and 20 seconds. You know, the usual thing most trucks can do that never sees anything but the occasional beer cooler in the bed

Alex on Auto just released his review, I haven't had a chance to watch yet, but he generally does very detailed reviews including testing everything from mileage to recharge times
