New GM Logo
Focus groups with normal people are different.
You're being hard too on CL members. Yes, many of us are bias toward Lexus and other Japanese brands, and many don't like GM. However, we are normal people and can separate our brand alliance from our aesthetic opinions.
This is likely where GM went wrong...trying to tell a story with a logo design is the antithesis of what they should be doing. Scrap the story telling and just make it look appealing to most people; that's all.
You have to wonder where all the dedication and love was for General Motors with their old logo after all these years.
Literally I think any logo you posted, people wouldn’t like lol
To me the logo looks like 10 years out of date looking at other logos companies are using today. The whole 3D color shading thing is really out, logos today are 2 dimensional and blocked solid colors.

You are right about the 2D. Toyota recently rebranded the Toyota logo in some regions and removed the word mark. Went to 2D.

It’s not a “Lexus fanboy” thing, it’s a simple observation by folks who have a sense of aesthetics. But certainly feel free to point out posts from Chevy/Buick/GMC forums if people are fawning all over it there.
Amazon, eBay, Facebook, Flickr, Intel, Citibank, Macy’s, BP, Vitamin Water, and Xerox have all moved to the lower case font for the entire logo. This was a smart and strategic move. This move is for the new upcoming generation.
Disagree. I came very close to buying a GM product a few years ago (but in the end bought nothing), and my next purchase will be a GM product. I still think this logo is lame. Mike is on his third consecutive GM vehicle, and isn’t exactly singing the praises of this change.
To be honest, I've also modified my view somewhat of the new badge. When I first saw it, early in the thread, you're correct......I wasn't exactly doing any back-flips over it. But, given the realities of today's market, as much as some people, particularly Baby-Boomers, want to hold onto the past, this is not, and probably will never again be, the "Mark of Excellence" and "Body by Fisher" GM of the 1960s....with Cadillac as the "Standard of the World". So, why try and keep holding on to the distant past and its badges?
Do you agree the blue one looks a little more classy?...or does it encroach too much into Ford's Blue Oval?

Blue seems to be a rather popular color for vehicle-logos. Mazda, in the past, had an especially attractive hue of blue in its logo.

One thing surprising is why green is not more
popular. Land Rover is the only brand in the U.S. market I know of that uses it.
