Hyundai Motor America Reports October 2020 Sales

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 3, 2020 – Hyundai Motor America reported total October sales of 57,395 units, a 1% increase compared with October 2019. Retail sales were up 10%. Hyundai fleet sales were down 45% and represented 9% of total volume.
“October was the 2nd straight month with double digit Hyundai retail sales growth as the automotive retail market continues to show resiliency,” said Randy Parker, vice president, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. “Our SUV products drove the majority of the growth, but our all-new Sonata achieved a 20% retail gain, a sign that the right sedan can still drive consumer demand. And our all-new Elantra will be joining it on dealer lots later this month.”
Hyundai sold 52,117 retail units in October, with SUVs representing 68% of the total retail mix. Hyundai SUV retail sales grew 23%. Retail sales jumped across the Hyundai lineup with Sonata (+20%), Santa Fe (+11%), Kona (+32%), Palisade (+73%) and Nexo (+118%) all achieving year-over-year retail gains.
Combined deliveries of Toyota's two pickups -- Tacoma and Tundra -- jumped 22 percent to 33,773.
U.S. sales of the RAV4 -- the country's top-selling compact crossover and Toyota's best-selling nameplate -- increased 8.6 percent to 40,717. Every Lexus light truck also posted a sales gain, with volume rising 26 percent or more for three models: The UX, NX and the GX.

Mazda Reports October Sales Results
November 3, 2020IRVINE, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2020) – Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today reported total October sales of 22,736 vehicles, an increase of 16.5 percent compared to October 2019. Year-to-date sales totaled 226,016 vehicles; a decrease of 0.7 percent compared to the same time last year. With 28 selling days in October, compared to 27 the year prior, the company posted an increase of 12.3 percent on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis.
Sales Highlights
- Sales of the CX-5 saw its best October ever with 11,890 vehicles sold.
- Sales of the CX-9 saw its second-best October with 2,382 vehicles sold.
- Sales of the MX-5 saw its best October since 2015 with 851 vehicles sold.
- CPO sales totaled 6,310 vehicles in October, an increase of 24 percent compared to October 2019, and achieved its best October.

Mazda Motor de Mexico (MMdM) reported October sales of 4,428 vehicles, a decrease 4.7 percent compared to October last year. Year-to-date sales decreased 26 percent, with 35,506 vehicles sold.

American Honda Reports October Sales Results

Subaru of America Reports All-Time Record October Sales and Best Sales Month of 2020
- Record October – monthly sales increase 11 percent over October 2019
- Best-ever October for Crosstrek
- Sixth consecutive month of 50,000+ vehicle sales in 2020
As the top performing carline by volume, Outback sales increased 46 percent in October 2020 compared with the same month a year ago. Crosstrek achieved its best October ever with 14,994 sales, a 24 percent increase over the same month in 2019. BRZ posted a 97 percent increase, while WRX/STI posted 46 percent increase in October. In addition, the 3-row Ascent and Forester SUVs, posted 4 percent and 8 percent decreases over October 2019, respectively.

Following eleven consecutive years of sales records, Subaru reported year-to-date sales of 497,971, a 14 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2019.
