allows people born in the 50s and 60s to still think they're cool. Even if they aren't.
As if all other manufacturers aren't trying to make their vehicles look cool, even when they're nothing special. It's called marketing!
I was born in the 50's, but I don't purchase Toyota/Lexus vehicles to make me look cool. I purchase them because they are reliable. Some people buy cars to look cool, but surely you don't think this is an older-person trait. If anything, younger folks tend to be more trendy and fashion conscious. Look who spends the most on modifying their vehicle for looks--kids!
Toyota still lives in the 80's and 90's, souping up slow cars.
To be fair all Honda's out side of Type R are slow too. Nissan has the GTR but all their other stuff is slow too. The Japanese haven't really pushed the envelope much in the last decade

Excuse me. Not all of us Boomers (and, yes, I am one of them) think we're "cool". And, yes, I grew up with muscle-cars. Fun to drive once in a while, but I never was really that big a fan of them, except perhaps for the Plymouth Road Runner with its bright colors, bird-graphics and Beep-Beep horn.

well it wasn't aimed at you as you wouldn't buy a fake-sport toyota. your IS300 on the other hand, was a real sports sedan.

I didn't get the IS because I necessarily wanted a sports sedan....in fact, I got the 55-series non-sport-oriented 16" all-season tire/wheel package the factory offered, because I wanted the smoothest ride possible on an IS. In fact, I actually preferred the ES and LS's underpinnings/suspension. What I DID like on the 1Gen IS, however (and what led me to buy one) was the bright yellow-sunburst color, the chronograph-style gauges, the chrome-ball shifter, and the smoothness/roadbility of the 3.0L in-line 6...all real classics, except that that particular engine had the fuel economy of a V8, on expensive premium fuel.
Looks quite nice 👍
power folding mirrors, power adjustable steering wheel, star gaze sunroof, 40 mpg
if Toyota prices this well this could do very well.
exterior looks good, but i do NOT like the interior. that big screen looks horrendous and what's with the useless angled/sloped piece going down to glove box?
